Genomic Evaluation of Sunflower Broomrape (Orobanche Cumana) Germplasm by KASP Assay [PDF]
Orobanche cumana Wallr. is a holoparasitic plant for only sunflower, hence it is called as sunflower broomrape. Yield loss created by O. cumana which is generally 50 % can reach to 100 %.

Engineering glyphosate‐resistant watermelon by prime editing
Editing the watermelon EPSPS gene using a prime editing platform with visible markers created a non‐transgenic glyphosate‐resistant line. These robust heterozygous mutants tolerate field‐level herbicide doses without growth penalties, serving as ideal parental lines for crop breeding.

Abstract Maintaining genetic purity and true‐to‐type clone identification are important action steps in breeding programs. This study aimed to develop a universal set of kompetitive allele‐specific polymerase chain reaction (KASP)‐based single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers for routine breeding activities ...

GmDOF3.1‐GmCPX Module Regulates Nodulation and Nitrogen Fixation Abilities in Soybean
ABSTRACT Soybean nodule nitrogen fixation is very important, which can provide a large amount of nitrogen supply for its own growth and that of other crops, but the mechanism is largely unclear. In the present study, a coproporphyrinogen oxidase gene, GmCPX, was identified to facilitate soybean nodulation and nitrogen‐fixation under the regulation of ...

ABSTRACT Sugar crops, including but not limited to sugarcane, sugar beet, sweet sorghum and stevia, are major sources of sugar production in the world. However, conventional breeding approaches, limited by long breeding cycles, low efficiency and restricted capacity to improve complex traits in sugar crops, are increasingly insufficient to address the ...

Provitamin A biofortification and increased dry matter content are important breeding targets in cassava improvement programs worldwide. Biofortified varieties contribute to the alleviation of provitamin A deficiency, a leading cause of preventable blindness common among pre-school children and pregnant women in developing countries particularly Africa.
