Cytology‐First Diagnostic Workflow for Melanoma of Unknown Primary With Molecular Profiling

open access: yesCytopathology, EarlyView.
Cytology‑first diagnostic workflow for melanoma of unknown primary. Fine‑needle aspiration of an enlarged lymph node enables rapid cytologic evaluation and immunocytochemical confirmation of melanocytic lineage (SOX10). This early cytologic diagnosis facilitates timely surgical excision and comprehensive genomic profiling, supporting integrated ...

Mechanisms of Thrombocytosis in Iron‐Deficiency Anemia

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Iron‐deficiency anemia is frequently accompanied by reactive thrombocytosis, yet the mechanisms underlying this association remain incompletely understood. Beyond impaired erythropoiesis, iron availability has emerged as an active regulator of hematopoietic lineage decisions.

Circulating progenitor cells and their interaction with platelets in patients with an acute coronary syndrome

open access: yesPlatelets, 2019
CD34+ cells expressing KDR (CD34+/KDR+) represent a small proportion of circulating progenitor cells that have the capacity to interact with platelets and to differentiate into mature endothelial cells, thus contributing to vascular homeostasis and ...

CFH (rs1061170, rs1410996), KDR (rs2071559, rs1870377) and KDR and CFH Serum Levels in AMD Development and Treatment Efficacy

open access: yesBiomedicines
Background: Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a major global health problem as it is the leading cause of irreversible loss of central vision in the aging population. Av-vascular endothelial growth factor (anti-VEGF) therapies have been shown to be effective, but they do not respond optimally to all patients. Objective.

Persistent in vitro nociceptor hyperexcitability and axonal retraction produced by repeated paclitaxel doses

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Repeated paclitaxel exposure causes long‐lasting nociceptor hyperexcitability and axonal retraction in adult sensory neurons. Using a long‐term primary nociceptor culture, we show that hyperexcitability is mediated by sequential upregulation of NaV1.8, TRPV1, TRPA1, and TRPM8 channels.
