Cytokeratin expression in breast cancer: from mechanisms, progression, diagnosis, and prognosis to therapeutic implications

open access: yesMolecular & Cellular Oncology
Background and Aim Cytokeratins (CKs) are structural proteins vital to epithelial integrity and play key roles in breast cancer progression. This review explores their expression, functions, and therapeutic potential. Methods A systematic review was ...

Decreased Production of Tissue Plasminogen Activator in Endothelial Cells From Nasal Polyps

open access: yesWorld Journal of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Previous studies have demonstrated that chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) is characterized by excessive fibrin deposition which is related to impaired production of tissue plasminogen activator(t‐PA) by epithelial cells.

Sensory Biology of the Franciscana (Pontoporia blainvillei, Pontoporiidae, Cetartiodactyla): Ontogenetic Modifications of Vibrissae and Vibrissal Crypts

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, EarlyView.
The transition of cetaceans from a terrestrial to an aquatic environment involved a crucial sensory adaptation to environments with limited visibility. Vibrissae, important mechanoreceptors, undergo an ontogenetic transformation in odontocetes. This research describes the histomorphology of vibrissae and crypts at different developmental stages ...

Single-cell dissection of chronic lung allograft dysfunction reveals convergent and distinct fibrotic mechanisms

open access: yesJCI Insight
Chronic lung allograft dysfunction (CLAD) is the leading cause of mortality after lung transplantation, yet its molecular mechanisms remain poorly understood.

Elevated CO2 and Temperature Alter Grass Pollen's Ability to Modify Transcriptome and Function of the Nasal Epithelium

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
We exposed human nasal epithelial tissues to pollen from grasses grown under different climate treatments (temperature and CO2). Pollen weakened epithelial tight junctions and altered cytokine‐related gene expression, with similar protein‐level effects.

Emollient Formulations and Skin Barrier Practices in the Context of Eczema and Food Allergy Prevention

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The skin is far from a passive shield; it functions as a dynamic “living barrier” whose structural and immunological integrity is paramount in preventing atopic dermatitis (AD) and the subsequent progression of the atopic march toward food allergy (FA).

Differential Roles for IL‐4Rα and IL‐13Rα1 in Immune Cell Infiltration and Epithelial Remodeling in Experimental Eosinophilic Gastritis

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
This study described the development of an experimental model for eosinophilic gastritis (EoG). Experimental EoG recapitulates histopathological features of human disease. including foveolar elongation, fibrosis, eosinophilia, mastocytosis and shared transcriptional programs.
