The pancreatic and duodenal homeobox protein PDX-1 regulates the ductal specific keratin 19 through the degradation of MEIS1 and DNA binding. [PDF]
Pancreas organogenesis is the result of well-orchestrated and balanced activities of transcription factors. The homeobox transcription factor PDX-1 plays a crucial role in the development and function of the pancreas, both in the maintenance of ...

A novel geometry‐resolved membrane platform provides a seamlessly integrated pipeline for studying curvature‐sensing proteins. By linking shotgun proteomics with quantitative imaging, this approach enables both the unbiased discovery and rigorous validation of novel sensors across the entire curvature range—positive, negative, and zero.

Keratin 19 mRNA measurement to detect micrometastases in lymph nodes in breast cancer patients [PDF]
We have used polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to measure keratin 19 mRNA in order to detect breast cancer cells invading axillary lymph nodes. In a consecutive series of 125 patients with primary breast cancer, 75 patients had no evidence of lymph node involvement by conventional histology.

The interaction between the HPV E1^E4 protein and the cell cytoskeleton. [PDF]
Papillomaviruses are small DNA viruses, which cause benign and malignant lesions in the differentiated epithelium of mammals and birds. A small subset of human papillomaviruses (HPV's), have been identified as the etiological agent of cervical cancer ...

Myxoglucamide A—a novel glycolipopeptide isolated from myxobacteria—was synthesized, and activity‐based protein profiling identified aldo‐keto reductase 1C3 (AKR1C3) as its main target in human cells. Structure‐activity relationship studies, together with biophysical characterization and X‐ray crystallography, elucidated the structural basis of AKR1C3 ...
