Chicken keratin‐19: Cloning of cDNA and analysis of expression in the chicken embryonic gut [PDF]

open access: yesDevelopment, Growth & Differentiation, 1997
From many recent studies, it has been argued that keratins (cytokeratins) play important roles in the morphogenesis and differentiation of organ development. To learn the role of keratin in digestive tract development, a cDNA of the chicken homolog of keratin‐19 (GK‐19) was cloned and its expression pattern was analyzed in the digestive tract of ...

The pancreatic and duodenal homeobox protein PDX-1 regulates the ductal specific keratin 19 through the degradation of MEIS1 and DNA binding. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2010
Pancreas organogenesis is the result of well-orchestrated and balanced activities of transcription factors. The homeobox transcription factor PDX-1 plays a crucial role in the development and function of the pancreas, both in the maintenance of ...

Immunohistochemical Demonstration of Keratin 19 Expression in Isolated Human Hair Follicles

open access: yesJournal of Investigative Dermatology, 1994
We examined keratins 19 and 8 in extracted human hair follicles using monoclonal antibodies Ks19.1 and CAM5.2, respectively. Ks19.1 reactivity was found in the bulge and infundibulum. Ks19.1(+) cells were dense in the bulge of vellus and intermediate hair follicles. The intact bulge of terminal hair could not be extracted, but the presence of Ks19.1(+)

Tissue proteome analysis for profiling proteins associated with lymph node metastasis in gallbladder cancer

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2023
Lymph node (LN) metastasis is the earliest sign of metastatic spread and an established predictor of poor outcome in gallbladder cancer (GBC). Patients with LN positive GBC have a significantly worse survival (median survival- 7 months) than patients ...

The RNA polymerase II core subunit 11 interacts with keratin 19, a component of the intermediate filament proteins

open access: yes, 1999
We have previously cloned the human RNA polymerase II subunit 11, as a doxorubicin sensitive gene product. We suggested multiple tasks for this subunit, including structural and regulatory roles.

Age and the means of bypassing stasis are determinants of the intrinsic subtypes of immortalized human mammary epithelial cells

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, 2015
Based on molecular features, breast cancers are grouped into intrinsic subtypes that have different prognoses and therapeutic response profiles. With increasing age, breast cancer incidence increases, with hormone receptor-positive and other luminal-like
