Transcriptome‐Based Classification of Resected Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma Enhances Prognostic Modelling Accuracy of Overall Survival Following Adjuvant Treatment

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 159, Issue 5, Page 1322-1336, 1 September 2026.
Outcomes after resection of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma remain highly variable, and existing prognostic models lack sufficient accuracy. Here, the authors aimed to improve survival prediction by integrating transcriptome‐based subtyping into a validated clinical model and applying it to a multicenter real‐world cohort of fresh‐frozen resection ...

Metalorganic Titanium Treatment to Change Enamel Optical Properties

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Materials Research Part B: Applied Biomaterials, Volume 114, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Observational studies have shown that human teeth with higher concentrations of titanium traces have better optical properties. The aim of this study was to investigate how titanium ion infiltration into tooth enamel affects its optical properties by studying the diffusion and reactivity of titanium compounds in tooth enamel and how this ...

Nanoplastic Particle Exposure Induces Toxicity and Amplifies Cellular Stress in THP‐1 Macrophages: Insights on Molecular Pathways and Circulating Proteome Interaction

open access: yesJournal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, Volume 40, Issue 9, September 2026.
Polystyrene nanoplastic particles (NPPs) interact with serum proteins, establishing nano‐bio interactions and triggering ROS‐mediated macrophage toxicity in THP‐1 cells, characterized by oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, apoptosis and stress‐signaling.

Fibroblast Activation Protein Expression Differs Between Inflamed and Fibrostenotic Inflammatory Bowel Disease

open access: yesJCC Plus, Volume 1, Issue 5, September 2026.
This study demonstrates that fibroblast activation protein expression is elevated in inflamed and fibrostenotic inflammatory bowel disease, with highest levels in fibrostenotic Crohn's disease. Cellular fibroblast activation protein predominates in inflamed tissues and localises to α‐SMA−PDPN−CD90+ stromal cells. ABSTRACT Background Intestinal fibrosis
