Entanglement between two charge qubits taking account the Kerr media

open access: yesФизика волновых процессов и радиотехнические системы
Background. The need to implement controlled coupling between qubits, which are the logical elements of quantum devices such as quantum computers and quantum networks, requires, along with the use of traditional methods, the development of new, more ...

Stabilization of a light bullet in a layered Kerr medium with sign-changing nonlinearity

open access: yes, 2004
Using the numerical solution of the nonlinear Schr\"odinger equation and a variational method it is shown that (3+1)-dimensional spatiotemporal optical solitons, known as light bullets, can be stabilized in a layered Kerr medium with sign-changing ...

Cross-Kerr nonlinearity in optomechanical systems [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review A, 2015
We consider the response of a nanomechanical resonator interacting with an electromagnetic cavity via a radiation pressure coupling and a cross-Kerr coupling. Using a mean field approach we solve the dynamics of the system, and show the different corrections coming from the radiation pressure and the cross-Kerr effect to the usually considered ...

Broadband Parametric Amplification in AlGaAs‐on‐Insulator Nanowaveguides

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Harnessing the exceptional nonlinearity of AlGaAs‐on‐insulator nanowaveguides, four‐wave‐mixing parametric amplification achieves a record net on‐chip gain of 56 dB and a gain bandwidth exceeding 415 nm at telecom wavelengths. These results establish AlGaAsOI as a powerful platform for compact, high‐performance integrated nonlinear optical ...

Symmetrically Threaded Superconducting Quantum Interference Devices as Next-Generation Kerr-Cat Qubits

open access: yesPRX Quantum
Kerr-cat qubits are bosonic qubits offering autonomous bit-flip protection, traditionally studied using driven superconducting nonlinear asymmetric inductive element (SNAIL) oscillators.

Large Kerr nonlinearity in PdS2 2D films

open access: yes, 2020
<p>We report a large third-order nonlinear optical response of palladium diselenide (PdSe2) films – a two-dimensional (2D) noble metal dichalcogenide material. Both open-aperture (OA) and closed-aperture (CA) Z-scan measurements are performed with a femtosecond pulsed laser at 800 nm to investigate the nonlinear absorption ...

Purely Kerr nonlinear model admitting flat-top solitons [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Letters, 2019
We elaborate one- and two-dimensional (1D and 2D) models of media with self-repulsive cubic nonlinearity, whose local strength is subject to spatial modulation that admits the existence of flat-top solitons of various types, including fundamental ones, 1D multipoles, and 2D vortices.

Optical‐to‐Microcomb Stability Transfer for Ultrastable Timing and Microwave/Millimeter‐Wave Generation

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates a high‐fidelity stability transfer from an optical reference to a high‐repetition‐rate microcomb using a mode‐locked laser bridge. By employing electro‐optic sampling timing detection, femtosecond‐level synchronization and 10−18‐level fractional frequency stability are achieved.

Study the behavior of soliton solution, modulation instability and sensitive analysis to fractional nonlinear Schrödinger model with Kerr Law nonlinearity

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal
The Fractional Nonlinear Schrödinger Model (FNLSM) with Kerr law nonlinearity, a popular model for simulating a variety of physical events, is the subject of this study. Our research has two main goals.

Optical solitons with differential group delay for complex Ginzburg–Landau equation

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2020
This paper addresses optical solitons in birefringent fibers that is modeled by complex Ginzburg–Landau equation with Kerr law nonlinearity. Three forms of integration architecture retrieves soliton and other solutions to the model.
