Soft Ionic and Electronic Triboelectric Nanogenerators: Toward Attachable and Implantable Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review provides an overview of triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG)–based biomedical applications by classifying studies into electronic and ionic systems across attachable and implantable platforms. It summarizes key material choices, device structures, and working mechanisms that characterize current TENG‐based research, and outlines six future ...

Selective Oxidative Cleavage of Benzyl C–N Bond under Metal-Free Electrochemical Conditions

open access: yesMolecules
With the growing significance of green chemistry in organic synthesis, electrochemical oxidation has seen rapid development. Compounds undergo oxidation–reduction reactions through electron transfer at the electrode surface. This article proposes the use

2D MOF with Intrinsic Porosity for Colorimetric Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An uncommon 2D MOF with intrinsic in‐plane porosity that can be mechanically exfoliated undergoes a distinct and reversible colour change upon exposure to various volatile organic compounds. ABSTRACT In this work, we report an uncommon 2D metal–organic framework (MOF) with intrinsic in‐plane porosity that undergoes a distinct and reversible colour ...

A randomized feasibility trial of the modified Atkins diet in older adults with mild cognitive impairment due to Alzheimer’s disease

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology
BackgroundAlzheimer’s disease (AD) is increasing in prevalence, but effective treatments for its cognitive impairment remain severely limited. This study investigates the impact of ketone body production through dietary manipulation on memory in persons ...

Poking Pluripotency: Nanoinjection Into Human iPSCs

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Nanoinjection into hiPSCs: silicon nanotubes effectively transfect human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) with mRNA, enabled by a delayed extracellular matrix application and enhanced surface functionalization. Nanoinjection is demonstrated with several reporter mRNA, including co‐transfection of mCherry and GFP.

Inter‐Atomic Synergy on Single‐Atom Alloy Promotes Cyclohexanone Oxime Electrosynthesis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Electrosynthesis of cyclohexanone oxime using renewable electricity offers a greener alternative to traditional energy‐intensive methods. Here, we develop a Fe1Bi single‐atom alloy that delivers 70.9% Faradaic efficiency and 0.94 mmol cm−2 h−1 yield rate through the atomic‐scale synergistic mechanism.

Bovine adipose mitochondrial adaptation and a potential lactate–ketone toggle in early lactation

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science
The periparturient period creates an intense energy demand due to the onset of lactation, which requires substantial glucose for milk synthesis, particularly in high producing cows, contributing to a high incidence of postpartum metabolic disease.
