Limonoids from leaves of Khaya senegalensis
Phytochemistry, 1997Abstract The leaves of Khaya senegalensis yielded two new limonoids. These compounds were identified on the basis of spectroscopic analysis as methyl 1α-acetoxy-3β,6,8α-trihydroxy-2α-methoxy-2β,14β-epoxy-[4.2.1 10,30 .1 1,4 ]-tricyclomeliac-7-oate and methyl 1α-acetoxy-6,8α,14β,30β-tetrahydroxy-3-oxo [3.3.1 10,2 .1 1,4 ]-tricyclomeliac-7-oate ...

Rearranged limonoids from Khaya senegalensis
Phytochemistry, 1996Abstract The stems of Khaya senegalensis yielded three limonoids which appear to be novel. These compounds were identified on the basis of spectroscopic analysis as methyl 1α,6,8α,14β,30β-pentahydroxy-3-oxo-[3.3.1 10,2 .1 1,4 ]-tricyclomeliac-7-oate; methyl 1α,2β,3α,6,8α,14β-hexahydroxy-[4.2.1 10,30 .1 1,4 ]-tricyclomeliac-7-oate and methyl 1α ...

Antimicrobial mexicanolide limonoids from the seeds of Khaya senegalensis
Journal of Asian Natural Products Research, 2021Three new mexicanolide limonoids were obtained from the 90% ethanol extract of the seeds of Khaya senegalensis. Their structures were elucidated as senegalenines A-C (1-3) by analysing their 1D/2D NMR and MS spectroscopic analysis. In addition, the isolated limonoids were tested in vitro for antimicrobial potentials against 5 pathogenic microorganisms.

LONG TERM STORAGE OFKHAYA SENEGALENSISSEEDS
International Tree Crops Journal, 1999SUMMARY Khaya senegalensis (Desr.) A. Juss. is an African mahogany species from dry tropical zones. The present study aims at defining the optimum storage conditions in order to retain the viability of seeds of this species in the long term. Monitoring has been going on for four years.

Khayseneganins A–H, Limonoids from Khaya senegalensis
Journal of Natural Products, 2012Eight new limonoids, khayseneganins A-H (1-8), and 31 known limonoids were isolated from the leaves and twigs of Khaya senegalensis. The structures of the new compounds were elucidated by 2D-NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry, and the absolute configuration of 1 was determined by the CD exciton chirality method.

Anticancer activity of limonoid from Khaya senegalensis
Phytotherapy Research, 2007AbstractTwo limonoids were isolated from the methanol extract of Khaya senegalensis (Meliaceae), and their structures were identified as 3α,7α‐dideacetylkhivorin (1) and 1‐O‐acetylkhayanolide B (2) on the basis of MS and NMR spectral data. Complete assignments of 1H and 13C chemical shifts for compounds 1 and 2 were achieved by means of 1D and 2D NMR ...

Extractives from Khaya senegalensis(Desr.) A. Juss
Journal of the Chemical Society C: Organic, 1968The timber, bark, root bark, roots, leaves, and seeds of Khaya senegalensis have been extracted with light petroleum. The known compounds 7-deacetoxy-7-oxokhivorin, khayasin, khivorin, methyl angolensate, mexicanolide, and 7-deacetoxy-7-oxogedunin have been isolated, together with a number of new compounds.

In vitro propagation of the African mahogany Khaya senegalensis
New Forests, 2010A protocol was developed for shoot proliferation and plantlet formation of Khaya senegalensis, an important medicinal and timber plantation species introduced to Australia and southern Asia from western and central Africa. We assessed effects of the plant growth regulators, benzyladenine, kinetin, naphthalene acetic acid and gibberellic acid, on shoot ...
