Because many of the genes used to produce induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) from somatic cells are either outright established oncogenes, such as c-myc and Klf4, or potentially related to tumorigenesis in various cancers, both the safety and the risks of tumorigenesis linked to iPSC generation require evaluation.

One hundred and seven adult cases of untreated diffuse large cell lymphoma (DLCL) were retrospectively analyzed for primary CD30 antigen expression, anaplastic morphology, and long-term prognosis. Tissue samples from 36 patients stained strongly for CD30, and of these, 22 showed anaplastic morphology.

The Ki-1 antibody not only detects a Hodgkin-associated membrane molecule of 120 kd (Ki-1/120 = CD30), but also reacts with an independently synthesized molecule of 57 kd (Ki-1/57) that only occurs intracellularly. Hodgkin's disease-derived cell lines L428 and L540 contain both Ki-1-reactive antigens, whereas others, e.g., U266/Bl myeloma cells, only ...

Human macrophages can express the Hodgkin's cell-associated antigen Ki-1 (CD30).
The American journal of pathology, 1989The normal precursor of the neoplastic cell in Hodgkin's lymphoma is still unknown. Previous reports on the expression of the Hodgkin's cell-associated antigen Ki-1, CD30, on normal cells have been limited to activated lymphocytes. This study demonstrates, however, that cells of the macrophage lineage also are able to express the Ki-1 antigen. The Ki-1

Characterization, mapping and partial cDNA sequence of the 57-kD intracellular Ki-1 antigen.
Experimental and clinical immunogenetics, 1998A novel antigen was identified by the cross-reactivity of the anti-CD30 antibody Ki-1. This 57-kD intracellular Ki-1 antigen (Ki-1/57) is induced upon activation of leukocytes and is transported to the nuclear compartment. We describe the partial cloning and sequencing of the Ki-1/57 cDNA from a lambda gt 11-cDNA library derived from the Hodgkin ...

Cytomorphology and immunocytochemistry were used to diagnose two cases of large cell anaplastic lymphomas that expressed the Ki-1 antigen. Smears stained with the May-Grünwald-Giemsa stain showed a cytomorphologic spectrum that varied from immunoblastlike cells to large tumor cells with pleomorphic nuclei.

Ki-1 antigen expression defines a favorable clinical subset of non-B cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Leukemia, 1990Immunohistochemical and immunophenotypic analyses were performed on 278 cases of karyotypically abnormal non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL). Excluding cases of lymphoblastic lymphoma or mycosis fungoides, 20 cases showed evidence of non-B cell lineage. T cell lineage was proven by genotypic and immunophenotypic analyses in 15 of the 20 cases; five were of ...

CD30 is a member of the tumor necrosis factor superfamily. In this study, we examined the effect of four anti-CD30 (aCD30) antibodies (Abs) on CD30-positive anaplastic large cell lymphoma-derived cell line, Ki-JK. The aCD30 Abs suppressed [3H]thymidine (TdR) incorporation. With a TdT mediated dUTP-biotin nick end labeling method, apoptosis was detected

A group of 63 cases of anaplastic large cell lymphomas (variants of diffuse large cell lymphomas often diagnosed as "malignant histiocytosis") was characterized on both morphologic criteria and expression of epithelial membrane antigen (EMA) and Ki-1 antigen (CD30).
