Expression of Ki-67—–A Proliferation-Associated Antigen—in Prostatic Cancer
Acta Oncologica, 1991The expression of the proliferation-associated antigen Ki-67 was studied in human prostatic cancer. The antigen was analyzed with an immuno-histochemical technique in TUR specimens. A correlation was seen between Ki-67 positivity and differentiation grade. All TUR specimens (15/15) with poorly differentiated carcinomas expressed the antigen. Moderately

Prognostic value of the proliferation-related antigen Ki-67 in oligodendrogliomas
Cancer, 1996In various neoplasms expression of the proliferation-related Ki-67 antigen has successfully been linked with parameters of progression of disease. While a definite grading scheme for oligodendrogliomas has still not been agreed upon, any parameter of tumor proliferation that might be helpful in predicting clinical outcome should be evaluated. The ...

Ki-67 antigen expression and growth pattern of basal cell carcinomas
Archives of Dermatological Research, 1993The expression and location of the Ki-67 antigen was investigated in 62 basal cell carcinomas (BCC) using immunostaining techniques (PAP and APAAP) on cryostat sections. The tumor samples were classified into three groups according to microarchitecture (nodular, superficial or fibrosing).

Proliferating normal bone marrow cells do stain for Ki‐67 antigen
British Journal of Haematology, 1993Summary The normal human bone marrow has been investigated in the past for the presence of the proliferation associated antigen detected by the Ki‐67 antibody and aberrantly low scores for this antigen have been reported. We used a new Ki‐67 equivalent antibody (MIU 1) and a formalin fixation of smears and trephine biopsies, and we report 52.8%±9.2 SD ...

Nodal nevi represent a potential diagnostic pitfall in the analysis of lymph nodes. They may be confused with metastatic melanoma or carcinoma. Although several morphologic guidelines exist for the recognition of nodal nevi, on occasion immunohistochemical studies may be helpful for diagnosis, especially when melanocytes extend into the lymph node ...

Expression of p53, MDM2 protein and Ki-67 antigen in recurrent meningiomas
Journal of Neuro-Oncology, 1998Association of p53 gene abnormalities with tumor progression and prognosis of many neoplasms has been demonstrated, but little is known about the clinical significance of p53 abnormalities in meningiomas. The significance of p53 protein expression in recurrent meningiomas and its relationships with MDM2 protein and proliferation activity were ...

Histochemistry of Ki-67 antigen in ameloblastomas.
Journal of Osaka Dental University, 2000The proliferative potential of two common histologic variants of ameloblastoma was investigated immunohistochemically using Ki-67 antibody on routinely processed, formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded sections. Thirty cases of ameloblastomas (15 cases of follicular and 15 cases of plexiform type) were analyzed.

[Flow cytometric analysis of Ki-67 reactive antigen].
Nihon rinsho. Japanese journal of clinical medicine, 1992Monoclonal antibody Ki-67 is a useful and easy means for evaluating cell proliferative activity. Furthermore, it appears to provide valuable prognostic informations in some neoplastic diseases. However, almost all studies on solid tumors were performed only by microscopic observation using immunohistochemistry, and not by flow cytometry. Therefore, the

Hereditary Gingival Fibromatosis and Expression of Ki‐67 Antigen: A Case Report
Journal of Periodontology, 2003Background: Hereditary gingival fibromatosis (HGF) is a fibrotic enlargement of the gingiva. The mechanism that leads to the accumulation of abnormal amounts of gingival tissue in HGF is still unknown. The aim of this report was to present the clinical and histopathologic characteristics of a patient with gingival fibromatosis and to evaluate the ...

Kinetic aspects of Ki-67 antigen expression in a normal cell line
Virchows Archiv B Cell Pathology Including Molecular Pathology, 1991Using a normal cell line derived from a human fetus, the disappearance and reappearance of the Ki-67-reactive antigen following modification of the cell cycle was observed and estimated immunohistologically. It was found that G1/G0 arrest induced by serum deprivation resulted in loss of the antigen in 24 h in all but a few (usually less than 10%) of ...
