Natural killer cells in asthma [PDF]
Purpose of review This review article discusses current knowledge on natural killer (NK) cells in asthma. Recent findings It is now well accepted that NK cell activities go beyond cancer immune surveillance and antiviral defense.

Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

Insulin-like growth factor I is an independent coregulatory modulator of natural killer (NK) cell activity. [PDF]
We aimed to investigate the natural killer (NK) cell activity in hGH-deficient adults and to analyze the effect of insulin-like growth factor (IGF)-I in uivo and in vitro on NK cell activity.

Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Influence of Cytokines and Autologous Lymphokine-Activated Killer Cells on Leukemic Bone Marrow Cells and Colonies in AML [PDF]
We have already shown that cytokine cocktails (IL-1 beta, IL-3, IL-6, SCF, GM-CSF) and/or lymphokine-activated killer (LAK) cells can reduce the amounts of clonal, CD34-positive mononuclear bone marrow cells (BM-MNC) in acute myeloid leukemia (AML).

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

The concept of tumor immunosurveillance has raised prospects for natural killer cell-based immunotherapy of human cancer. The cure of acute myeloid leukemia may depend on eradication of leukemic stem cells, the self-renewing component of leukemia ...
