By decreasing cholesterol and lipid raft levels in the plasma membrane, proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) boosts human epidermal growth factor receptor 1 and 3 (EGFR and HER3) activation, driving tumor growth and metastasis in triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC).

Lattice ultrasensitivity amplifies signals in E. coli without fine-tuning [PDF]
The E. coli chemosensory lattice, consisting of receptors, kinases, and adaptor proteins, is an important test case for biochemical signal processing. Kinase output is characterized by precise adaptation to a wide range of background ligand levels and large gain in response to small relative changes in concentration.

sEVs have a critical role in orchestrating interorgan crosstalk and mediating exercise‐induced therapeutic effects. Lin et al. demonstrates that sEVs miR‐17/20a‐5p mediates the muscle‐brain crosstalk and emphasizes the central role of mTOR signaling in executing molecular programs that can protect brain health in response to exercise. Abstract Physical

NF2 is Essential for Human Endoderm Development
This study demonstrates that NF2, moesin‐ezrin‐radixin like (MERLIN) tumor suppressor (NF2) is essential for human endoderm formation. NF2 knockout human induced pluripotent stem cells fail to form endoderm both in vitro and in vivo due to yes‐associated protein 1 (YAP1) nuclear translocation, redirecting differentiation toward myofibroblast‐like cells.

Discrimination of Membrane Antigen Affinity by B cells Requires Dominance of Kinetic Proofreading over Serial Triggering [PDF]
B cells receptor (BCR) signaling in response to membrane-bound antigen increases with antigen affinity, a process known as affinity discrimination. We use computational modeling to show that B cell affinity discrimination requires that kinetic proofreading predominate over serial engagement.
