Giant Anisotropy and High Second‐Order Nonlinearity of 3R‐MoS2 for Multifunctional Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Graphical abstract highlights, 3R‐polytype of MoS2 (3R‐MoS2) as a multifunctional photonic platform enabled by giant optical anisotropy and optical nonlinearities, demonstrating subdiffractional waveguiding, giant second‐harmonic (SH) generation, and high‐performance reflective polarization control.

1‐D Collocated Dual‐Gradient Sensory Fibers for Comprehensive Sensing and Decoding of Complex Human Motion and Physiology

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Coupled materials design enables a monolithic fiber that integrates complementary sensing regimes into a single wearable strand. By preserving informative signal features across subtle physiological deformation, large body motion, and mixed mechanical inputs, the dual‐gradient architecture generates synchronized, less redundant outputs that improve ...

Transient Cytoskeletal Anisotropy Encodes Short‐Term Mechanical Memory in Glioblastoma Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The same mechanical deformation can produce distinct cytoskeletal states depending on loading history. Experiments and constitutive modeling reveal that transient actin–vimentin anisotropy stores mechanical information and governs short‐term mechanical memory in glioblastoma cells.

Testing and Simulation of Multilayer Polyvinylidene Fluoride‐Based Piezoelectric Energy Harvester Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
The study considers the use of polymer/dielectric‐based multilayers piezoelectric Energy Harvesters (EH) to produce an output voltage and current, by exploiting the mechanical energy provided by human organs movements. In particular, the heart motion is considered from the kinematic viewpoint, and a multiphysics theoretical model is developed to assess

Elimination of Necking and Aspect Ratio Dependence in Uniaxial Actuators by Continuous Fiber Reinforcement

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A novel carbon fiber reinforcement for dielectric elastomer actuators enhances actuation force while decoupling electromechanical performance from the actuator's aspect ratio. Unlike conventional fiber reinforcements, it enables a uniform planar stretch state along the entire actuator.

The influence of hallux valgus on pelvis and lower extremity movement during gait [Vliv valgózní deformity palce na pohyb pánve a dolních končetin při chůzi]

open access: yesActa Universitatis Palackianae Olomucensis. Gymnica, 2011
BACKGROUND: The hallux and the first metatarsophalangeal joint play a major role in load transmission during walking. OBJECTIVE: The main aim of this study was to investigate differences in kinematics of the pelvis and lower extremities during gait by ...
