Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Biomechanical Hand Prosthesis Design

open access: yesMachines, 2023
There are various studies on the structural and functional constructions of hand prostheses inspired by human biomechanics, and there are different kinds of prostheses available on the market. This paper aims to present the relevant stages of designing a

Kinematic path analysis of kinematically indeterminate systems

open access: yesKSCE Journal of Civil Engineering, 2016
Kinematically indeterminate systems are geometrically unstable. Considering that there is only tiny elastic deformation in the process of the mechanism motion, the method to simulate kinematic paths of kinematically indeterminate systems without considering elastic deformation is studied in this paper.

Experimental Characterization and Constitutive Modeling of the Effect of Prior Inelastic Strain on the Viscoplastic Behavior of AD730 at 700 °C

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study shows that superalloys used in aircraft engine disks become much more prone to deformation at high temperatures if they have been strained during manufacturing. This effect increases with the level of prior strain but eventually reaches a limit.

Kinematic gait analysis in hemiplegic patients

open access: yesJournal of Rehabilitation Medicine, 1993
Temporal-distance variables of gait were investigated in 8 female and 23 male hemiplegic patients in order to assess the distribution of these variables according to functional ambulation category and to evaluate their validity. Video-recording technique was used for obtaining the temporal-distance values.

Additive Manufacturing of Alumina‐Reinforced Elastomers

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Vat‐photopolymerized elastomers reinforced with platelet‐shaped alumina exhibited preferential orientation, reduced porosity, and significantly enhanced mechanical performance. A 3 wt% platelet loading increased tensile strength from 12.4 to 45.7 MPa, highlighting the critical role of filler morphology in elastomeric VPP composites.

Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.

Research and Mechanism Design Analysis of Devices Based on Human Upper Limb Stretching

open access: yesMachines
The upper limb stretching device plays a key role in enhancing physical function. Current commercial upper limb stretching devices often suffer from limited functionality and are poorly aligned with the biomechanics of the human arm.
