Sampling, Mobility, and Anchoring in Small‐Body Sampling Robots: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesSmartBot, EarlyView.
Small‐body sampling robots are exploration systems that perform contact, sampling, and stable operations on microgravity bodies such as asteroids and comets. The authors review representative robot architectures and key technologies, focusing on the mechanisms, evolution, and coupling of sampling, mobility, and anchoring.

Posture Optimization of the TIAGo Highly-Redundant Robot for Grasping Operation

open access: yesRobotics
This study explores the optimization of the TIAGo robot’s configuration for grasping operation, with a focus on the context of aging. In fact, featuring a mobile base and a robotic arm, the TIAGo robot can conveniently aid individuals with disabilities ...

An inverse kinematics algorithm for a highly redundant variable-geometry-truss manipulator [PDF]

open access: yes
A new class of robotic arm consists of a periodic sequence of truss substructures, each of which has several variable-length members. Such variable-geometry-truss manipulator (VGTMs) are inherently highly redundant and promise a significant increase in ...

Bath Vibration During Open Eye Formation in a Physical Model of a Steelmaking Ladle

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Using a physical model, this study shows that vibration measurements reliably predict open eye size in steelmaking ladles, offering a practical alternative to visual monitoring. Vessel vibrations stabilize faster than the open eye, except at high frequencies near the bottom.

General-Weighted Least-Norm Control for Redundant Manipulators under Time-Dependent Constraint

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Robotic Systems, 2015
Previous research dealing with constrained kinematic redundancy problems focuses on manipulators with time-independent constraints. This paper extends the general-weighted least-norm (GWLN) method to manipulators with time-dependent constraints by ...

Fuzzy logic control of telerobot manipulators [PDF]

open access: yes
Telerobot systems for advanced applications will require manipulators with redundant 'degrees of freedom' (DOF) that are capable of adapting manipulator configurations to avoid obstacles while achieving the user specified goal.

Optimal redundancy resolution for kinematically redundant parallel manipulators

open access: yes, 2020

Kinematic Control of Redundant Knuckle Booms

open access: yesInternational Journal of Forest Engineering, 2009
The Swedish forestry industry competes on an international market; because raw material is more expensive than in other parts of the world, the chain from the stump to the industry needs to be very effective. One part in this chain is cutting and transporting trees from the forest to the landing area for further transportation with trucks to the paper ...

Convergent Interval Confirmation for Three‐Step Discrete Specific Zeroing Neural Dynamics Illustrated With Repetitive Motion Planning of Redundant Manipulators

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Repetitive motion planning (RMP) for redundant manipulators with high convergent precision becomes an intense research topic due to its more degrees of freedom. In this paper, a specific zeroing neural dynamics (SZND) model for the RMP is first set up via zeroing neurodynamics.

Resolution of seven-axis manipulator redundancy: A heuristic issue [PDF]

open access: yes
An approach is presented for the resolution of the redundancy of a seven-axis manipulator arm from the AI and expert systems point of view. This approach is heuristic, analytical, and globally resolves the redundancy at the position level.
