Research on Dimensional Synthesis and Kinematics of Planar Mechanism [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Engineering Research, 2014
The main idea in function generating synthesis of the planar mechanism is the design of a mechanism so that to provide a prescribed trajectory. In this paper a general method for dimensional synthesis is proposed. The synthesis equation is the nonlinear equation with three unknowns, and the equations are solved.

Autonomous Folding of Soft Matter From Living Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Origami structures are endowed with “living” polymer creases that grow, remodel, and stiffen in response to nutrient solutions. This post‐fabrication growth enables autonomous folding, iterative regrowth, and mechanical tuning involving origami assemblies, such as cranes, Miura‐ori tessellations, rigid and non‐rigid square‐twist patterns, establishing ...

Structural Analysis Requirements for Kinematic Function of Pre-fabricated Metal Systems

open access: yesJournal of Architecture, Art & Humanistic Science, 2018
The motion mechanisms considered as the way that achieve the kinematic functions of pre-fabricated metal systems, the designer should be aware of the kinematic needs to achieve the required kinematic functions and so the designer should consider the ...

Transient Cytoskeletal Anisotropy Encodes Short‐Term Mechanical Memory in Glioblastoma Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The same mechanical deformation can produce distinct cytoskeletal states depending on loading history. Experiments and constitutive modeling reveal that transient actin–vimentin anisotropy stores mechanical information and governs short‐term mechanical memory in glioblastoma cells.
