Measuring and modelling mechanochemical reaction kinetics

Chemical Communications, 2020
Quasi-static quantum calculations of the mechanochemical decomposition rate of methyl thiolate species on Cu(100) accurately reproduce the experimental kinetics measured in ultrahigh vacuum by an atomic force microscopy tip.

Fluorometric measurement of DNA reassociation kinetics

Analytical Biochemistry, 1979
Abstract A simple, highly sensitive method for assessment of the kinetics of reassociation of DNA has been developed. The method is based on the difference between the intensity of fluorescence of the ethidium bromide complex with single- and double-stranded DNA and requires no preliminary preparative separation of the molecules.

Kinetic texture measurements

Neutron News, 1992
Abstract The great majority of technologically applied materials have a polycrystalline structure. In such materials the texture describes statistically the orientation distribution of the crystallographic axes of the grains (crystallites) with respect to a set macroscopic sample axes-i.e.

Cell kinetic measurements in prostate cancer

International Journal of Radiation Oncology*Biology*Physics, 1997
Two approaches have been suggested for escalating the total dose in radiotherapy treatment of prostate cancer. One is conformal radiotherapy; the other is hyperfractionation using many small fractions. Both imply some possible prolongation in overall treatment time. To judge whether prolonged treatment schedules would be detrimental, it is necessary to

THE MEASUREMENT OF GRANULOCYTE KINETICS

British Journal of Haematology, 1977
Studies using 3H-TdR, DF32P or 51Cr have all contributed important information concerning neutrophil kinetics in normal and abnormal conditions. Recent evidence, however, suggests that DF32P underestimates, and 51Cr overestimates, the blood neutrophil T1/2 and that both isotopes overestimate the TBNP, compared with 3H-TdR-derived data.

Measurement of Enzyme Kinetics Using Microscale Steady-State Kinetic Analysis

Langmuir, 2004
This paper describes a new technique--microscale steady-state kinetic analysis (microSKA)--that enables the rapid and parallel analysis of enzyme kinetics. Rather than physically defining a microscopic reactor through microfabrication, we show how the relative rates of reaction and transport in a macroscopic flow chamber, where the enzyme is ...

Single-Molecule Measurement of Protein Folding Kinetics

Science, 2003
In order to investigate the behavior of single molecules under conditions far from equilibrium, we have coupled a microfabricated laminar-flow mixer to a confocal optical system. This combination enables time-resolved measurement of Förster resonance energy transfer after an abrupt change in solution conditions.
