Atomically Dispersed Cobalt on Ionic Carbon Nitrides for Selective and Efficient Nitrate Electroreduction to Ammonia

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 16, 13 April 2026.
By exploiting the structural benefits of PHI, we synthesized CoPHI with atomically dispersed cobalt sites at high density. This architecture enables efficient nitrate ion adsorption, promotes water dissociation, and enhances *H generation on the catalyst surface, thereby significantly improving electrochemical nitrate reduction performance.

Serial Spatial Transcriptomes Reveal Regulatory Transitions in Maize Leaf Development

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 24, Issue 5, Page 2787-2810, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Plant leaves originate from the shoot apical meristem (SAM) and undergo a developmental process of highly coordinated gene expression regulation. To date, only a few key regulators have been identified and characterised, so the gene expression cascades responsible for leaf cell specification and differentiation from SAM remain largely elusive.

Phosphate Transporters Mediate the Uptake of Monothioarsenate

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, Volume 49, Issue 5, Page 2628-2638, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Arsenic (As) is one of the most problematic environmental toxins. Exposure to As, predominantly via drinking water and the intake of food, represents a major human health threat. Various species of As exist in the environment, among them organic and inorganic thioarsenates.

PHR1 mediates rapid high light responses and acclimation to high photosynthetic activity

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, Volume 126, Issue 3, May 2026.
SUMMARY Changing light intensity requires immediate metabolic adjustment which involves reprogramming of both plastidial and nuclear gene expression, but the signaling pathways behind such responses are not fully understood. Here we report that an increase in light intensity causes fluctuations of Pi levels in the chloroplasts of Arabidopsis thaliana ...

Investigating Synthetic Dolomite Mixtures and Phase Adjustment Parameters in Electrochemical Cement Precursor Production

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 27, Issue 8, 28 April 2026.
The electrochemical dissolution of synthetic dolomite mixtures and reconstitution into hydroxide precursor phases suitable for Portland cement and Mg‐based cements is investigated. Adjustments of the experimental parameters during electrolysis allow for adjustments in product phase distribution, shedding insight into mixture separation techniques in ...
