Millisecond Flash Photonic Regeneration of Conductive Copper From CuO Thin Films

open access: yesIsrael Journal of Chemistry, Volume 66, Issue 6, November 2026.
Millisecond flash photonic heating regenerates conductive copper from fully oxidized CuO thin films. Pulse trains partially reduce dense, ≈50 nm pulsed‐laser‐deposited CuO into a laterally heterogeneous Cu/Cu2O/CuO composite spanning the film, tuned by repetition number alone.

Plasmepsins as Antimalarial Drug Targets—Then, Now, and the Future

open access: yesMedicinal Research Reviews, Volume 46, Issue 6, Page 1574-1602, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Malaria is a devastating disease caused by Plasmodium parasites. Plasmodium parasites express ten cathepsin D‐like aspartyl proteases, called plasmepsins (PMs). These PMs have diverse roles fulfill diverse functions throughout the parasite's lifecycle, though several exhibit functional redundancies. Among them, PMV, PMIV, and PMX are essential

Radical Innovation Validation: Delivering Value in Radical Innovation Development

open access: yesR&D Management, Volume 56, Issue 5, Page 742-765, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Radical innovation (RI) offers significant benefits, but the challenges encountered during its implementation can be formidable. Recent literature suggests the use of practices such as prototyping, experimentation, piloting, and demonstration to address these challenges through small‐scale, iterative approaches.

Skyrmions in Scalar Fields of Non‐Hermitian Optical Microcavities: Spontaneous Formation, Nonlinear Control, and Optical Forces

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 19, 13 October 2026.
Skyrmion topology is shown to emerge spontaneously in scalar fields of driven‐dissipative optical microcavities, without externally imposed phase structure. In exciton‐polariton condensates, non‐Hermitian flow generates isolated Skyrmions and self‐organized Skyrmion lattices, while optical nonlinearities enable switching and reconfiguration of their ...

Above Room Temperature Ferroelectricity in Epitaxially Strained KTaO3

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 57, 13 October 2026.
Through precise epitaxial engineering, the cubic and paraelectric KTaO3${\rm KTaO}_3$ is transformed into a robust ferroelectric. By leveraging lattice‐mismatched substrates to apply controlled epitaxial strain, a stable ferroelectric ground‐state is achieved with a transition temperature as high as 475 K, establishing KTaO3${\rm KTaO}_3$ as a highly ...
