Modeled Subsidence of Permafrost Terrain 2025–2050: North‐Central Alaska

open access: yesPermafrost and Periglacial Processes, Volume 37, Issue 4, Page 692-712, October/December 2026.
ABSTRACT A large fraction of the Alaska terrain is underlain by regolith that contains excess ice (ice that in volume exceeds the natural pore space). Possible loss of excess ice would lead to ground subsidence, which in turn would disturb and destabilize the ground surface.

Strategy for modular assembly of tetravalent, multispecific antibodies

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract Multispecific, multivalent antibodies (Abs) are a burgeoning class of drugs that dramatically expand the pharmacological repertoire beyond traditional therapeutic Abs. Here, we present a simple, modular approach to developing multispecific, multivalent Abs based on a Fab‐phage library with a single light chain.

Building coiled coils with polar cores

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract Coiled coils are formed by α‐helices winding around each other into superhelical bundles. They are characterized by a specific geometry of interaction, called knobs‐into‐holes, in which residues in the core of the structure mesh regularly along a seam that runs the length of the helices.

Photofluidization of Azobenzene‐Based Smart Materials: Fundamental Mechanisms, Structural Classifications, and Surface Patterning Applications

open access: yesSmartMat, Volume 7, Issue 5, October 2026.
Azobenzene materials possess reversible photofluidization, promising for surface patterning. This review summarizes state‐of‐the‐art advances in azo‐material photofluidization, including photoisomerization mechanisms, molecular/polymer structural categories, emerging patterning applications, remaining challenges and future outlooks.

Mapping the Western Jezero Crater Rim From Orbit: Connections to Regional Geologic Units and Context for Exploration by the Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract The Mars 2020 rover is currently traversing the western rim of Jezero, a Middle to Late Noachian‐aged crater formed by an impactor that struck the northwest edge of Isidis Planitia (hereafter referred to as the Isidis basin) on Mars. Previous studies suggest that pre‐Isidis basin and Noachian outcrops are preserved throughout this region ...
