Soman induces endoplasmic reticulum stress and apoptosis of cerebral organoids via the GRP78‐ATF6‐CHOP signaling pathway

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cerebral organoids were employed as a novel model to explore the neurotoxicity of soman. Soman inhibited acetylcholinesterase activity, increased cell apoptosis and upregulated endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress markers glucose‐regulated protein 78 (GRP78), activating transcription factor 6 (ATF6) and C/EBP homologous protein (CHOP).

Aging‐Driven Blood–Brain Barrier Dysfunction and Its Impact on CNS Cancer Susceptibility: A Comprehensive Narrative Review

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Aging weakens the blood–brain barrier (BBB), increasing susceptibility to CNS cancers and complicating treatment. This review examines BBB deterioration, its impact on drug delivery, and potential interventions like targeting neuroinflammation and advanced therapies.

The Adhesion Modulating Properties of Tenascin-W

open access: yesInternational Journal of Biological Sciences, 2012
Tenascins are extracellular matrix glycoproteins associated with cell motility, proliferation and differentiation. Tenascin-C inhibits cell spreading by binding to fibronectin; tenascin-R and tenascin-X also have anti-adhesive properties in vitro.
