Intrapatient tumour heterogeneity and clonal evolution in an autopsy study of metastatic salivary gland cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumour heterogeneity and clonal evolution of metastatic salivary gland cancer were evaluated in two patients with adenoid carcinoma and one patient with myoepithelial carcinoma. Radiology‐guided autopsy enabled multi‐region sampling (total samples n = 149), followed by whole‐genome sequencing and phylogenetic reconstruction (17 tumour samples, 4–7 per ...

Knowledge extraction from WebPages. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This article presents a system to extract Knowledge from webpages by producing semantic annotations. taking into account semantic information from the domain to annotate an element in a webpage implies solving two problems : (1) identifying the syntactic structure of this element in the webpage and (2) identifying the most specific concept (in terms of

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

About the Development of the Intelligent Deckhouse to the Information Leakage Control Systems

open access: yesБезопасность информационных технологий, 2013
The problem of preventing leaks of corporate information is described. Opportunities of DLP-systems, problems in constructing and functioning of such systems and propose to develop the intellectual superstructure are analyzed.

Knowledge Extraction and Knowledge Integration governed by Łukasiewicz Logics

open access: yesCoRR, 2016
The development of machine learning in particular and artificial intelligent in general has been strongly conditioned by the lack of an appropriate interface layer between deduction, abduction and induction. In this work we extend traditional algebraic specification methods in this direction.

Gaining Insight by Structural Knowledge Extraction

open access: yes, 2016
The availability of increasingly larger and more complex datasets has boosted the demand for systems able to analyze them automatically. The design and implementation of effective systems requires coding knowledge about the application domain inside the system itself; however, the designer is expected to intuitively grasp the most relevant features of ...

Identifying transcription factors controlling the basal expression of human MRP4 highlights a substantial role for Sp1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.

Early‐life high‐fat diet exposure increases Achilles tendon stiffness and induces transcriptomic alterations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

Sudden anaerobization in Amphibacillus xylanus increases intracellular labile ferrous iron and inhibits cell growth

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Abruptly changing from aerobic to anaerobic conditions (sudden anaerobization) induced growth inhibition and a significant increase in intracellular labile ferrous iron in the aerotolerant anaerobe Amphibacillus xylanus. We found that free flavins mediate efficient electron transfer from NADH to ferric iron under anaerobic conditions, suggesting that ...
