Conceptual foundations of a palliative approach: a knowledge synthesis. [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Palliat Care, 2016
Background: Much of what we understand about the design of healthcare systems to support care of the dying comes from our experiences with providing palliative care for dying cancer patients. It is increasingly recognized that in addition to cancer, high quality end of life care should be an integral part of care that is provided for those with other ...

Plan Synthesis for Knowledge and Action Bases [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We study plan synthesis for a variant of Knowledge and Action Bases (KABs), a rich, dynamic framework, where states are description logic (DL) knowledge bases (KBs) whose extensional part is manipulated by actions that possibly introduce new objects from

Refining the NaV1.7 pharmacophore of a class of venom‐derived peptide inhibitors via a combination of in silico screening and rational engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Venom peptides have shown promise in treating pain. Our study uses computer screening to identify a peptide that targets a sodium channel (NaV1.7) linked to chronic pain. We produced the peptide in the laboratory and refined its design, advancing the search for innovative pain therapies.
