Knowledge translation in global health.
The Ministerial Summit on Health Research in November 2004 and the World Health Assembly in May 2005 called for more research in developing countries to strengthen health systems and to help achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by 2015. Research we believe has to be a component of a strategic process rather than an end in itself.

The tumor microenvironment is a dynamic, multifaceted complex system of interdependent cellular, biochemical, and biophysical components. Three‐dimensional in vitro models of the tumor microenvironment enable a better understanding of these interactions and their impact on cancer progression and therapeutic resistance.

RPNet: an End-to-End Network for Relative Camera Pose Estimation
This paper addresses the task of relative camera pose estimation from raw image pixels, by means of deep neural networks. The proposed RPNet network takes pairs of images as input and directly infers the relative poses, without the need of camera ...

Liver‐specific knockout of N6‐methyladenosine (m6A) methyltransferase METTL3 significantly accelerated hepatic tumor initiation under various oncogenic challenges, contrary to the previously reported oncogenic role of METTL3 in liver cancer cell lines or xenograft models. Mechanistically, METTL3 deficiency reduced m6A deposition on Manf transcripts and

Development of 4T1 breast cancer mouse model system for preclinical carbonic anhydrase IX studies
Carbonic anhydrase IX (CAIX) is a well‐recognised therapeutic target and prognostic biomarker in cancer. We developed and characterised a robust murine breast cancer model system that is suitable for CAIX studies in vitro and in vivo—it comprises both CAIX‐positive and CAIX‐negative controls and provides a solid platform for the comprehensive ...

How do clinicians use implementation tools to apply breast cancer screening guidelines to practice?
Background Implementation tools (iTools) may enhance uptake of guidelines. However, little evidence exists on their use by primary care clinicians. This study explored which iTools clinicians used and how often; how satisfied clinicians were with the ...

Mitochondria contain two mitoribosome rescue factors, ICT1 and MTRFR (C12orf65). ICT1 also functions as a mitoribosomal protein in mice and humans, and its loss is lethal. Although Mtrfr knockout mice could not be generated, knockout zebrafish lines for ict1 and mtrfr were established.
