Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Users’ understanding of medical knowledge in general practice

open access: yesSocial Science & Medicine, 2002
Much emphasis is now being placed on the quality of medical care, and various ways are being developed to assess the medical knowledge of general practitioners. It is increasingly recognised that the users perspective on health care is important, and that the views of health care professionals do not and cannot represent patients' views.

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

The User Centred Knowledge Model - t-UCK

open access: yes, 2008
In knowledge engineering, modelling knowledge is the process of structuring knowledge before implementation. A crucial part of system development depends on the acquiring and structuring, since the quality of system’s contents is of decisive importance ...

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

End user development: What influences the relationship between satisfaction with tools and satisfaction with applications

open access: yes, 2001
This study explored the possible role of four factors in the relationship between end user developers’ perceptions of their applications and their perceptions of the tools used to create them.

Beyond the prompt: The Role of User Behavior in Shaping AI-misalignment and Societal Knowledge

open access: yesTechnology and Regulation
This research paper explores the concept of AI-misalignment, differentiating between perspectives of AI model designers and users. It delves into the notion of user-centric AI misalignment, breaking it down into three categories: user responsibility ...

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...
