A CCM‐based architectural strategy is introduced for high‐temperature PEM fuel cells, enabling MPL‐free carbon paper gas diffusion layers via decal‐transfer processing. By co‐engineering the CCM, GDL, and a G‐foam flow field, oxygen transport is enhanced while phosphoric‐acid leakage is suppressed, resulting in high power density and stable operation ...

Gas Dynamics of Micro- and Nanofluidic Systems
The size of micro- and nanofluidic devices accounts for their operation in modes that differ significantly from those for the corresponding macroscopic counterparts.

DSMC investigation of rarefied gas flow through diverging micro- and nanochannels
Direct simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) method with simplified Bernoulli-trials (SBT) collision scheme has been used to study the rarefied pressure-driven nitrogen flow through diverging microchannels.

Uranium Doped Gallium Nitride Epitaxial Thin Films
Uranium was controllably added to gallium nitride using molecular beam epitaxy. The uranium atoms segregated into vertically oriented regions with higher doping levels. Concentrations up to a few percent were achieved without showing significant degradation in the crystalline quality or optical characteristics. Low electrical resistivity was maintained

CFD modeling and sensitivity‐guided design of silicon filament CVD reactors
Abstract Filament‐based chemical vapor deposition (CVD) for silicon (Si) coatings is often treated as an adaptation of planar deposition. But this overlooks fundamental shifts in transport phenomena and reaction kinetics. In filament CVD, the filament acts as a substrate, heat source, and flow disruptor simultaneously. In this work, we ask: What really

A Continuum Description of Rarefied Gas Dynamics (I)--- Derivation From Kinetic Theory
We describe an asymptotic procedure for deriving continuum equations from the kinetic theory of a simple gas. As in the works of Hilbert, of Chapman and of Enskog, we expand in the mean flight time of the constituent particles of the gas, but we do not ...

The Insistence of Blackness and the Persistence of Antiblackness in Ireland
ABSTRACT This paper positions Ireland as a critical site for examining the insistence of blackness and an antiblackness created and sustained through Irish ethnonationalist imaginaries and exclusionary processes. Drawing on connected sociologies and Irish Black Studies, this enquiry argues that antiblackness in Ireland operates as a generational force,

Unified gas-kinetic wave-particle methods IV: multi-species gas mixture and plasma transport
In this paper, we extend the unified gas-kinetic wave-particle (UGKWP) methods to the multi-species gas mixture and multiscale plasma transport. The construction of the scheme is based on the direct modeling on the mesh size and time step scales, and the

Effects of partial thermalization on HBT interferometry
Hydrodynamical models have generally failed to describe interferometry radii measured at RHIC. In order to investigate this ``HBT puzzle'', we carry out a systematic study of HBT radii in ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions within a two-dimensional ...
