Study on Natural Gas Decarbonization Process Based on CO2 Desublimation Characteristics
ABSTRACT Natural gas decarbonization is a crucial processing step. In this study, the snow separation technology for removal of carbon dioxide in natural gas based on CO2 desublimation characteristics was introduced. The phase equilibrium calculation of CH4‐CO2 and N2‐CO2 system was carried out by using cubic equations of states (EOSs), and identified ...

Machine learning of hidden variables in multiscale fluid simulation
Solving fluid dynamics equations often requires the use of closure relations that account for missing microphysics. For example, when solving equations related to fluid dynamics for systems with a large Reynolds number, sub-grid effects become important ...

ABSTRACT The rate of a heterogeneous catalytic process may simultaneously be described by several rate equations. In this case, discrimination between the plausible kinetic models is required. An intrinsic kinetic model of a heterogeneous catalytic process may successively be discriminated by the transition from a reaction rate‐limited regime to an ...

The standard lattice Boltzmann equation, LBE, is inadequate for simulating gas flows in nano scale flows with Knudsen numbers higher than 0.1. In the present study, rarefied gas flow in nano porous structures is simulated using the modified Lattice ...

Discrete unified gas kinetic scheme for all Knudsen number flows: II. Compressible case
This paper is a continuation of our earlier work [Z.L. Guo {\it et al.}, Phys. Rev. E {\bf 88}, 033305 (2013)] where a multiscale numerical scheme based on kinetic model was developed for low speed isothermal flows with arbitrary Knudsen numbers. In this

Thermal defrosting limits desublimator efficiency in freeze‐drying. This review and case study compares thermal versus mechanical regeneration, links frost properties and external heat transfer to energy demand, and summarizes pilot‐scale scraping results enabling single‐unit, continuous lyophilization.

Statistical Error in Particle Simulations of Hydrodynamic Phenomena
We present predictions for the statistical error due to finite sampling in the presence of thermal fluctuations in molecular simulation algorithms. Specifically, we establish how these errors depend on Mach number, Knudsen number, number of particles ...

Direct-drive DT implosions with Knudsen number variations
Direct-drive implosions of DT-filled plastic-shells have been conducted at the Omega laser facility, measuring nuclear yields while varying Knudsen numbers (i.e., the ratio of mean free path of fusing ions to the length of fuel region) by adjusting both shell thickness (e.g., 7.5, 15, 20, 30 μm) and fill pressure (e.g., 2, 5, 15 atm).

Release of multicomponent pheromones from porous fibres
Abstract Surface engineering empowers a polymer exclusion net to serve dual functions: physical exclusion and pheromonal release, allowing for pest control in agricultural crops. In previous work, a net woven from porous fibres releasing simple, single‐component alarm pheromones showed promising results in field tests.
