Due to the unique properties of polymer composites, these materials are used in many industries, including shipbuilding (hulls of boats, yachts, motorboats, cutters, ship and cooling doors, pontoons and floats, torpedo tubes and missiles, protective ...

Chaotic properties of systems with Markov dynamics
We present a general approach for computing the dynamic partition function of a continuous-time Markov process. The Ruelle topological pressure is identified with the large deviation function of a physical observable.

Kolmogorov-Sinai Entropy of the Ising Model [PDF]
The Kolmogorov Sinai entropy of the Ising model is calculated with a coupled map lattice model. The KS entropy indicates a mixing rate in the equilibrium state.

Relative Chaoticity of Natural Languages
This paper presents a novel approach to analyzing and grouping natural languages based on the degree of their chaoticity. It clusters 52 languages from 18 language families, according to the value of the entropy–complexity pair, to reveal the chaotic properties of semantic trajectories.

Information Dynamics in Complex Systems Negates a Dichotomy between Chance and Necessity
Entropy increases in the execution of linear physical processes. At equilibrium, all uncertainty about the future is removed and information about the past is lost.

Lyapunov Spectra in SU(2) Lattice Gauge Theory
We develop a method for calculating the Lyapunov characteristic exponents of lattice gauge theories. The complete Lyapunov spectrum of SU(2) gauge theory is obtained and Kolmogorov-Sinai entropy is calculated. Rapid convergence with lattice size is found.

Abstract Although the concept of thermodynamic entropy due to Clausius dates back to the early 1850s, the mathematical theory of informational entropy was not developed until the pioneering work of Shannon in 1948, the development of principle of maximum entropy (POME) and theorem of concentration by Jaynes in 1957, principle of minimum cross entropy ...

Complexity and non-separability of classical Liouvillian dynamics
We propose a simple complexity indicator of classical Liouvillian dynamics, namely the separability entropy, which determines the logarithm of an effective number of terms in a Schmidt decomposition of phase space density with respect to an arbitrary ...

ABSTRACT Microplastics (MPs) are of increasing global concern for species inhabiting aquatic habitats. However, the mechanisms behind animal responses to MPs still require comprehensive exploration. Amphibians are the most threatened vertebrate group with most species having a complex life cycle, commonly with an aquatic larval stage.

Classification of asynchronous elementary cellular automata (AECAs) was explored in the first place by Fates et al. (Complex Systems, 2004) who employed the asymptotic density of cells as a key metric to measure their robustness to stochastic transitions.
