Kolmogorov complexity and probability measures [PDF]
summary:Classes of strings (infinite sequences resp.) with a specific flow of Kolmogorov complexity are introduced. Namely, lower bounds of Kolmogorov complexity are prescribed to strings (initial segments of infinite sequences resp.) of specified ...

Probabilistic Kolmogorov complexity with applications to average-case complexity [PDF]
Understanding the relationship between the worst-case and average-case complexities of NP and of other subclasses of PH is a long-standing problem in complexity theory.

Testing the Complexity of a Valued CSP Language [PDF]
A Valued Constraint Satisfaction Problem (VCSP) provides a common framework that can express a wide range of discrete optimization problems. A VCSP instance is given by a finite set of variables, a finite domain of labels, and an objective function to be

A Novel Approach to Understanding the Complexity of Precipitation
One of the most challenging tasks in studying precipitation is quantifying how the complexities of individual components contribute to the overall system complexity.

Obesity raises blood levels of PAI‐1, a protein linked to metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease in people with obesity. In female mice fed a high‐fat diet, partially lowering PAI‐1 led to smaller subcutaneous fat cells and lower liver cholesterol, without changing body weight or insulin sensitivity.

Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Bulk‐Like Spin Cycloid and Fast Switching in Freestanding BiFeO3
Freestanding BiFeO3 membranes overcome substrate‐induced constraints by simultaneously restoring the intrinsic bulk‐like spin cycloid and enabling ≈50% faster ferroelectric switching than substrate‐clamped epitaxial thin films. This combination of robust noncollinear antiferromagnetic order and efficient electric‐field switching establishes ...

ABSTRACT Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is associated with gut microbiota dysbiosis, yet the contribution of specific microbial metabolic pathways remains unclear. Reanalysis of a public ASD cohort revealed reduced functional potential in microbial tryptophan oxidative metabolism.
