Yellow Palm Discoloration After Phenol Exposure

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Phenol exposure typically causes irritant contact dermatitis with yellow‐brown discoloration. A worker developed characteristic discoloration followed by rapidly evolving distant eruptions consistent with an id reaction after phenol exposure. Symptoms resolved with conservative treatment and elimination of exposure.

Physapubescin B From Physalis: A Food‐Derived Withanolide for Cancer Chemoprevention and Nutraceutical Development

open access: yeseFood, Volume 7, Issue 4, August 2026.
Physapubescin B may interfere with multiple cancer‐associated signaling pathways by inhibiting Ras/Raf/mitogen‐activated protein kinase kinase/extracellular signal‐regulated kinase (Ras/Raf/MEK/ERK) signaling and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)‐dependent angiogenesis.

Sinusoidal Obstruction Syndrome With Inotuzumab Ozogamicin Combined With Ponatinib for Philadelphia‐Chromosome‐Positive Lymphoblastic Malignancies

open access: yeseJHaem, Volume 7, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Sinusoidal obstruction syndrome, also known as veno‐occlusive disease (SOS/VOD), can occur after exposure to inotuzumab ozogamicin (InO), a calicheamicin‐based antibody‐drug conjugate. Case Presentation We experienced two cases of SOS/VOD after treatment with InO combined with intermittent administration of ponatinib without ...

Midterm Efficacy of SubcutAneous Implantable CardioVErter‐Defibrillator in ≤ 18 Year‐Old CHILDREN (SAVE CHILDREN‐II Registry)

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 4, August 2026.
S‐ICD therapy demonstrated favorable mid‐term safety and efficacy in pediatric patients, with durable sensing performance and a low incidence of device‐related infection. ABSTRACT Background The subcutaneous implantable cardioverter‐defibrillator (S‐ICD) avoids transvenous leads and is a promising option for sudden cardiac death (SCD) prevention in ...

An ion treatment planning framework for inclusion of nanodosimetric ionization detail through cluster dose

open access: yesMedical Physics, Volume 53, Issue 8, August 2026.
Abstract Background Nanodosimetry relates the cumulative or statistical moments of Ionization Detail (ID) with biological endpoints of relevance to cancer radiotherapy using charged particles. This association suggests to develop an additional physics‐detailed layer of modeling that may complement biological modeling and treatment planning.

Improved Cassava Varieties and Smallholder Farmers' Productivity and Welfare in Ghana: Insights From a Robust Impact Estimator Selection Approach

open access: yesPlant-Environment Interactions, Volume 7, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT The development and dissemination of improved agricultural technologies are crucial for enhancing productivity and the welfare of smallholder farmers. Although there is growing empirical evidence on the impact of improved agricultural technologies on various economic and social outcomes, some studies often overlook potential biases.

Unveiling the AcSirt2‐FOXO‐Mitophagy Axis: Insights Into Mitochondrial Quality Control and Delayed Aging in Apis cerana

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 8, August 2026.
Age‐related downregulation of AcSirt2 impairs mitochondrial homeostasis in old bees. AcSirt2‐mediated deacetylation of FOXO enhances transcriptional activity, upregulating antioxidant enzymes (SOD, CAT) and promoting PINK1/Parkin‐mediated mitophagy. This pathway facilitates autophagosome formation and clearance of damaged mitochondria, reducing ROS ...
