Abstract Globally, temperate deciduous forests are threatened by invasion of non‐native (exotic) plant species. In the eastern United States, Rosa multiflora is a dominant shrub invader in forests, which often forms dense thickets that reduce sunlight availability in the understory, where decreased native plant diversity and abundance are observed ...

Current vegetation maps show evergreen forests of Cambodia as one homogenous forest type. However, ecological field studies in the central plains demonstrated a heterogenous mosaic of different evergreen forest types, each with a unique species composition and ecological characteristics.

Revised classification of Acanthaceae and worldwide dichotomous keys
Abstract Acanthaceae are among the most taxonomically diverse, geographically widespread, and morphologically and ecologically variable lineages of flowering plants. Most modern workers have estimated more than 4000 species and potentially more than 5000 species worldwide, thus placing Acanthaceae among the 12 or so most diverse families of angiosperms.

Mapping Stress and Fluids on Faults by Nonshear Earthquakes
Abstract Fluids on faults facilitate triggering of earthquakes and affect seismic energy release. Their detection in the focal zone is, however, difficult. Here, we present mapping of stress changes and fluid flow based on determining seismic moment tensors (MTs), which describe focal mechanisms and shear/tensile/compressive fracturing modes of ...
