Development of structural and biochemical characteristics of C4 photosynthesis in two types of Kranz anatomy in genus Suaeda (family Chenopodiaceae) [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Botany, 2011
Genus Suaeda (family Chenopodiaceae, subfamily Suaedoideae) has two structural types of Kranz anatomy consisting of a single compound Kranz unit enclosing vascular tissue. One, represented by Suaeda taxifolia, has mesophyll (M) and bundle sheath (BS) cells distributed around the leaf periphery.

Psychedelics as pharmacotherapeutics for substance use disorders: A scoping review on clinical trials and perspectives on underlying neurobiology

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 183, Issue 14, Page 4022-4047, July 2026.
Theorized mechanism of dopamine homeostasis restoration in the nucleus accumbens core induced by a psychedelic intervention. Abstract Psychedelics have garnered great attention in recent years as treatments for major depressive disorder (MDD) and treatment‐resistant depression because of their ability to alter consciousness and afflicted cognitive ...

Do robots boost productivity? A quantitative meta‐study

open access: yesJournal of Economic Surveys, Volume 40, Issue 3, Page 1531-1571, July 2026.
ABSTRACT This meta‐study analyzes the productivity effects of industrial robots. More than 1800 estimates from 85 primary studies are collected. The meta‐analytic evidence suggests that robotization has so far provided, at best, a small boost to productivity. There is strong evidence of publication bias in the positive direction.

Decisions Under Radical Uncertainty: The Role of Volitional Liminality in Radical Innovation

open access: yesJournal of Product Innovation Management, Volume 43, Issue 4, Page 592-615, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Academic Summary Radical innovation management can be understood as an organizational practice that enacts distant futures, which are open‐ended and unknowable. Such radical innovation endeavors are thus characterized by radical uncertainty, where possible futures are not only quantitatively but qualitatively different from the present, and ...

Arquitetura, anatomia e histoquímica das folhas de Gomphrena arborescens L.f. (Amaranthaceae) Architecture, anatomy and histochemistry of the leaves of Gomphrena arborescens L.f. (Amaranthaceae)

Rational Optimization of Self‐Reporting Alcohol‐Oxidizing RhIII$^{\mathrm{III}}$ Complexes

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 17, 17 June 2026.
A series of four different [(NN)Rh(Cp*)X]n+$^{\mathrm{n+}}$ complexes (NN = chelating α$\alpha$‐diimine ligand, Cp* = pentamethylcyclopentadienyl, X = Cl, solvent) are reported which all do possess a colorimetric self‐reporting property upon alcohol oxidation formation of the Rh(I) state. Analysis of alcohol oxidation rates

Presence of chloroplasts in mestome sheath cells of the C3 Pooid grass Elymus tsukushiensis

open access: yesPlant Production Science, 2018
The successful introduction of the C4 pathway into C3 crops would increase photosynthetic rates and crop productivity. However, our poor understanding of how Kranz leaf anatomy develops poses a great obstacle.

Hybrid and seeding rate effects on corn yield and economic return across eight site‐years in Nebraska

open access: yesCrop, Forage &Turfgrass Management, Volume 12, Issue 1, June 2026.
Abstract Hybrid selection is one of the first and most critical decisions made in a farming operation, and corn (Zea mays L.) hybrids respond differently to management practices like seeding rates. Understanding the effect of hybrid selection and seeding rate on corn yield and economic return is increasingly relevant as we seek to enhance the rate of ...

The Pyruvate-Phosphate Dikinase (C4-SmPPDK) Gene From Suaeda monoica Enhances Photosynthesis, Carbon Assimilation, and Abiotic Stress Tolerance in a C3 Plant Under Elevated CO2 Conditions

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2020
A pyruvate-phosphate dikinase (C4-PPDK) gene was cloned from Suaeda monoica, which had a single-cell C4 photosynthesis pathway without Kranz anatomy and was functionally validated in a C3 model plant under different abiotic stress conditions in an ...
