An Elementary Derivation of Kronecker Canonical Form for Linear Time-Invariant Systems

Abstract This paper demonstrates an elementary approach to derive the canonical form of a state space representation of a finite-dimensional, linear, time-invariant system under the group of transformation consisting of a state feedback, an output injection, and nonsingular coordinate transformations of state, input and output spaces.

Jordan–Kronecker Invariants of Semidirect Sums of the Form sl(n) + (ℝn)k and gl(n) + (ℝn)k

Abstract For a general matrix pencil sF-G with Ф(F,G) root range, the set Ω(F,G)={Cr (F,G); Cl(F,G); J r α ; α∊Ф(F,G)} of characteristic sequences is defined and it is shown to be a complete set of invariants for matrix pencils under strict equivalence.
