, 2020 Doğum sonrası kuzu kayıpları kalıtsal yapı ve çevresel faktörlerin etkisi altında meydana gelmektedir. Ancak; kuzu kayıpları üzerinde kalıtsal yapının etkisi çok düşük düzeydedir. Kayıp oranı (%5-20) önemli ölçüde yetiştirme ve bakım besleme şartlarına bağlıdır. Çevre şartlarının iyileştirilmesiyle bu oran %5'in altına düşürülebilir.
