Studies on L-Ascorbic Acid Derivatives. II. L-Ascorbic Acid 3-Phosphate and 3-Pyrophosphate
Phosphorylation of 5, 6-isopropylidene-L-ascorbic acid with phosphorus oxychloride gave mainly a mixture of four phosphates. Column chromatography on Dowex-1-bicarbonate with a solution of sodium bicarbonate as a developer was found suitable for the separation of these phosphates for the preparative purpose.

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Nano Drug Delivery Formulations for Topical Dermal Administration of L-Ascorbic Acid and Derivatives
This review considers L-ascorbic acid as a test substance in designing a dermal drug delivery system for carrying a hydrophilic, low-stability API. Actual studies of nano delivery systems carrying L-ascorbic acid are reviewed.

The inhibition of mitochondrial dihydroorotate dehydrogenase (DHODH) impairs syncytialization and induces cellular senescence via mitochondrial and endoplasmic reticulum stress in human trophoblast stem cells, elevating sFlt1/PlGF levels, a hallmark of placental dysfunction in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy.

Laboratory investigation of daily food intake and gut evacuation in larvae of African catfish Clarias gariepinus under different feeding conditions [PDF]
Temporary accumulation of ascorbic acid 2-sulfate (AAS) was measured to estimate food intake and gut evacuation in larvae of African catfish. Fish larvae were fed decapsulated cysts of Artemia containing AAS.

Abruptly changing from aerobic to anaerobic conditions (sudden anaerobization) induced growth inhibition and a significant increase in intracellular labile ferrous iron in the aerotolerant anaerobe Amphibacillus xylanus. We found that free flavins mediate efficient electron transfer from NADH to ferric iron under anaerobic conditions, suggesting that ...
