L-Asparaginase (ASNase, EC 3.5.1.1) is a tetrameric aminohydrolase enzyme that catalyses the hydrolysis of the amino acid L-Asparagine into ammonia and L-aspartic acid. ASNase is present in different organisms such as bacteria, fungi, plant tissues and algae.

Antiviral Activity of L-Asparaginase
Nature New Biology, 1971L-ASPARAGINASE has anti-leukaemic and immunosuppressive activities1 and following the observation that L-asparaginase inhibits plaque formation in L mouse fibroblast cultures by herpes simplex virus2, we report studies of the activity of the enzyme on the multiplication of several human and animal viruses in cell cultures. A preparation of L-asparagine-

Monoclonal antibodies to L-asparaginase
Experientia, 1984Five hybridomas secreting monoclonal antibody to E. coli L-asparaginase were isolated. These monoclonal antibodies were classified into 3 different subclasses; Ig G1 (1 clone), Ig G2 (2 clones) and Ig G3 (2 clones). One of them possessed anti-L-asparaginase neutralizing activity.

The Distribution and Clearance of L-Asparaginase
1970The role of L-asparaginase in the chemotherapy of cancer and the possible mechanism of action of this enzyme in the control of growth of lymphomatous cells has been the subject of numerous presentations at this symposium. The purpose of this report is to describe an automated method for the assay of L-asparaginase and to present data concerning the ...
