Fluoxetine Improves the Effect of Levodopa on 6-Hydroxy Dopamine-Induced Motor Impairments in Rats [PDF]
Purpose: Long term L-DOPA therapy in Parkinson’s disease is associated with troublesome motor fluctuations such as L -DOPA Induced dyskinesia and wearing off effect.

L-DOPA Uptake in Astrocytic Endfeet Enwrapping Blood Vessels in Rat Brain
Astrocyte endfeet surround brain blood vessels and can play a role in the delivery of therapeutic drugs for Parkinson’s disease. However, there is no previous evidence of the presence of LAT transporter for L-DOPA in brain astrocytes except in culture ...

Multimodal Imaging Reveals Rapid Catecholamine Uptake and Release by Neutrophils
We show that immune cells (neutrophils) synthesize, uptake, and store catecholamine neurotransmitters such as dopamine or adrenaline. They also release them in response to specific stimuli (serotonin), which we directly visualize using fluorescent nanosensors. We further demonstrate that catecholamines affect neutrophil functions (NETosis) and platelet

LRRK2‐mutant induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) were derived from a patient with Parkinson's disease (PD). Using CRISPR/Cas9–mediated gene editing, the pathogenic LRRK2 mutations were precisely corrected, and isogenic dopaminergic neural progenitor cells (DA‐NPCs) were subsequently generated.

A multi‐omics framework combining multitissue genome‐wide association studies, metabolomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and functional validation uncovers the genetic basis of specialized metabolism in quinoa. The study identifies hundreds of metabolite‐associated loci, prioritizes candidate genes for saponin, betalain, and flavonoid biosynthesis ...

A disulfide‐sticker strategy, coupled with Ca2+ coordination, drives the hierarchical self‐assembly of a recombinant scallop adhesive protein into fishnet‐like nanostructures, affording a coating with versatile wet adhesion and intrinsic antioxidant activity. This biocompatible coating markedly promotes hair regeneration by activating follicular niches,

Polydopamine nanoparticles enable a precise, non‐genetic, and transcranial neuromodulation strategy via near‐infrared photothermal stimulation. By activating TRPV1 channels, this approach specifically enhances hippocampal gamma oscillations, thereby rescuing spatial memory deficits in models of perioperative neurocognitive disorder.
