An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Moments of order statistics (OSs) characterize the Weibull–geometric and half-logistic families of distributions, of which the extended exponential–geometric (EEG) distribution is a particular case. The EEG distribution is used to create the log-extended

Network Traffic Characterization Using L-moment Ratio Diagrams
5G networks are facing to new challenges related to the growing traffic volume and service diversity. Some of the major concerns in this new scenario are the security and privacy issues required for a full technology adoption. Traffic characterization is a compound of strategies intended to define formally the behaviour and patterns in the Internet ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Innovative Explicit Relations for Weibull Distribution Parameters Based on K-Moments
Accurate estimation of probability distribution parameters is fundamental in frequency analyses of extreme hydrological and meteorological events. The reliability of such analyses largely depends on the estimation method adopted and on the availability ...

Efficient Frontier for Robust Higher-order Moment Portfolio Selection [PDF]
This article proposes a non-parametric portfolio selection criterion for the static asset allocation problem in a robust higher-moment framework. Adopting the Shortage Function approach, we generalize the multi-objective optimization technique in a four ...

Generalised Smooth Tests of Goodness of Fit Utilising L‐moments
SummaryIn this paper we present a semiparametric test of goodness of fit which is based on the method of L‐moments for the estimation of the nuisance parameters. This test is particularly useful for any distribution that has a convenient expression for its quantile function.

Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Theoretical L-moments and TL-moments Using Combinatorial Identities and Finite Operators
International audienceMoments have been traditionally used to characterize a probability distribution. Recently, L-moments and trimmed L-moments are appealing alternatives to the conventional moments.

TL-moments and L-moments Estimation of the Generalized Logistic Distribution
