Alpha‐Synuclein Promotes Anterograde Vesicle Transport in Melanocytes and Melanoma Cells: A Pro‐Survival Function

open access: yesJournal of the Chinese Chemical Society, EarlyView.
Model for how α‐syn modulates the positioning of endolysosomes in melanoma cells. (a) α‐syn tethers endolysosomes to the plasma membrane, a last step in anterograde transport. (b) Loss of α‐syn expression causes the loss of the tethering function, which leads to perinuclear vesicle clustering. Reproduced from the open access article.

Preliminary assessment of various additives on the specific reactivity of anti- rHBsAg monoclonal antibodies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Background: Antibodies have a wide application in diagnosis and treatment. In order to maintain optimal stability of various functional parts of antibodies such as antigen binding sites, several approaches have been suggested.

Clinical Interpretation of Platelet Activation Marker sCLEC‐2 in Antiphospholipid Syndrome

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
Soluble C‐type lectin‐like receptor 2 (sCLEC‐2), a marker of platelet activation, was evaluated in patients with antiphospholipid syndrome (APS). Plasma sCLEC‐2 levels and the sCLEC‐2/D‐dimer ratio were significantly elevated in APS compared with other collagen diseases and healthy controls.

L-selectin gene polymorphism and its association with clinical mastitis, somatic cell score, and milk production in Polish Holstein-Friesian cattle

open access: yesCzech Journal of Animal Science, 2018
Bovine mastitis is a widespread disease of the mammary gland, highly contributing to the increase in veterinary costs in dairy industry. In the present study, the genetic polymorphism within bovine L-selectin gene was analysed and its impact on clinical ...

Circadian Immunity and Vascular Inflammation in Cardiovascular Disease Chronotherapy Windows: Time for a Re‐Assessment

open access: yesMed Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Circadian rhythms orchestrate cardiovascular physiology by regulating immune and inflammatory pathways. Disruption of these rhythms profoundly alters vascular homeostasis, thereby promoting the onset and progression of cardiovascular diseases (CVD).

l-Selectin – A dynamic regulator of leukocyte migration

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Cell Biology, 2012
The leukocytic cell adhesion receptor L-selectin mediates the initial step of the adhesion cascade, the capture and rolling of leukocytes on endothelial cells. This event enables leukocytes to migrate out of the vasculature into surrounding tissues during inflammation and immune surveillance.

Enhancement of immune checkpoint inhibitor efficacy by DHX58+ SELL+ T cells in advanced gastric cancer

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
We created a coculture system using patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) and tumor‐infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) that mimics important interactions between PDOs and TILs in the presence of various ICIs. Our findings reveal that CD62L+ T cells, activated by CD44+ cancer stem cells (CSCs), facilitate tumor regression in samples sensitive to ICIs, which is ...
