Aspirin‐Derived Salicyl‐CoA Drives Histone Lysine Salicylation Regulated by CBP and SIRT2
Aspirin‐derived salicyl‐CoA serves as a previously unrecognized acyl donor for protein lysine salicylation. This study identifies histone lysine salicylation as a reversible epigenetic modification regulated by CBP and SIRT2, expanding the biochemical actions of aspirin beyond its canonical acetylation‐dependent mechanisms and providing a new framework

Alternate‐day fasting suppresses mitochondrial complex II assembly via SDHAF4 to upregulate hepatocyte eNOS. The resulting nitric oxide S‐nitrosylates ATG7 at C184 in hepatic stellate cells, restraining autophagic flux and preventing their profibrotic activation.

The Deubiquitinase UCHL1 Drives Susceptibility to Atrial Fibrillation by Stabilizing CaMKII‐δ
UCHL1 is highly upregulated in mice and patients with AF. UCHL1 directly binds to and removes K48‐linked polyubiquitin chains from CaMKII‐δ at K251 and enhances CaMKII‐δ stability, which activates RyR2, disrupts Ca2+ handling, and promotes AF. These findings establish UCHL1 as a critical regulator of CaMKII‐δ stability and AF‐related Ca2+ handling ...

The role of L-serine dehydratase in the metabolism of L-serine in the perfused rat liver
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - General Subjects, 1971Abstract 1. 1. To determine the role of L -serine dehydratase ( L -serine hydrolyase, deaminating, EC 4.2.1.13) in L -serine metabolism in the rat liver, experiments involving in situ liver perfusion, metabolite measurement in freeze-clamped tissues and enzyme activity determinations were conducted. 2. 2.

Effects of l-serine on neurons in vitro
Journal of Neuroscience Methods, 1995We have examined the influence of amino acids on chicken embryonic dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons in vitro and have found that serine has a marked impact on the morphology of the developing neurites. In cultures supplemented with L-serine (but not D-serine) at micromolar concentrations (10-200 microM), the length of the neurites was increased by up

Abstract Two crystalline salts have been obtained from the system l -serine - picric acid - H2O: l -serinium picrate monohydrate (I) and tris( l -serine) bis( l -serinium) dipicrate trihydrate (II). The salt (I) crystallizes in monoclinic system (space group P21, Z = 4). Asymmetric unit of (I) contains two formula units. Carboxyl groups of both l -

l-serine dehydratase and l-serine-pyruvate aminotransferase activities in different animal species
Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B: Comparative Biochemistry, 19791. A rough inverse correlation between liver serine dehydratase activity and species body size was observed with mammals. This was not found for glutamate, malate or lactate dehydrogenase, fumarase or aspartate-2-oxoglutarate aminotransferase. Serine dehydratase (and certain liver aminotransferases showing a similar species-size dependence) may have a ...

Adsorption of O-Phospho-L-Serine and L-Serine onto Poorly Crystalline Apatite
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2001The adsorption of phosphoserine and serine was studied to determine the effect of amino acid functional groups on the surface reactivity of synthetic poorly crystalline apatite similar to bone mineral. The experimental results for phosphoserine and serine uptake agree respectively with the Langmuir and Freundlich models. Phosphoserine exhibits stronger
