ABSTRACT Long‐term economic analyses of variable rate irrigation (VRI) strategies were performed compared with uniform irrigation management (UIM) in a reference production field using the AquaCrop model. Five strategies to trigger irrigation were as follows: (Field Capacity‐VRI, Driest Soil Trigger‐VRI, Water Mining‐VRI, Conventional Uniform ...

Anopheles gambiae mosquitoes exhibit takeoff responses when presented to commercial permethrin headspace. This product elicits electrophysiological activity in the antennae and tarsi. However, only the chemical information acquired from the tarsi plays a major role in the observed behavioral response.

Japanese Women's Attitudes Toward Learning Languages Other Than English in the Era of Global English
ABSTRACT This study on female Japanese learners of the Korean language is situated in the centuries‐long anti‐Korean sentiments in Japan, the global popularity of the Korean Wave, particularly among women, and the essentialized image of socially marginalized young Japanese women who study English with romantic desires for Western men.

How bacterial ribosomal protein L20 assembles with 23 S ribosomal RNA and its own messenger RNA.
In bacteria, the expression of ribosomal proteins is often feedback-regulated at the translational level by the binding of the protein to its own mRNA. This is the case for L20, which binds to two distinct sites of its mRNA that both resemble its binding
