Geminale Difunktionalisierung von Ketonen durch C–S Bindungs‐insertion photogenerierter Donor–Donor Diazoverbindungen

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 25, 15 June 2026.

Geminal Difunctionalization of Ketones via C─S Bond Insertion of Photogenerated Donor–Donor Diazo Compounds

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Volume 65, Issue 25, 15 June 2026.
Geminal difunctionalization of readily available building blocks provides rapid access to molecular complexity. This work introduces a strategy for installing two distinct functional groups on a carbonyl carbon by transforming it into a donor–donor diazo compound, enabling both batch and flow applications with broad solvent compatibility.

Impact of Load Variation on the Accuracy of Gait Recognition from Surface EMG Signals

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
As lower-limb exoskeleton and prostheses are developed to become smarter and to deploy man–machine collaboration, accurate gait recognition is crucial, as it contributes to the realization of real-time control.

Observations of Modified Polyps and Polyp Leaves in Sea Pens (Cnidaria: Octocorallia): The Cases of Ptilella and Pennatula

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
We describe unusual and mostly unreported morphological traits on colonies of the deep‐water sea pens Ptilella and Pennatula from the Northwest Atlantic, namely the presence of hypertrophied polyps, split polyp leaves, and autozooids budding on the surface of polyp leaves (as opposed to the edges). ABSTRACT Here we describe unusual morphological traits

Physical and organoleptic characteristics of Limmu coffee landraces, southwestern Ethiopia

open access: yesJSFA reports, Volume 6, Issue 6, Page 220-235, June 2026.
Abstract Background Coffee (Coffea arabica L.) is one of the world's most valuable agricultural commodities, with Ethiopia recognized for producing high‐quality Arabica coffee. Limmu landrace coffees are prized for their distinctive flavor profiles; however, systematic evaluation of their raw and cup quality traits remains limited.

Functionally related internal fluctuations in human ileal bile acid‐binding protein by high pressure nuclear magnetic resonance

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Hidden protein states with partially unfolded regions can have a functional relevance and may also contribute to an uncontrolled self‐association of proteins leading to pathological conditions. Human ileal bile acid‐binding protein (hI‐BABP), a member of the family of intracellular lipid‐binding proteins (iLBPs), plays a key role in the ...

Revision of Threshold Luminance Levels in Tunnels Aiming to Minimize Energy Consumption at No Cost: Methodology and Case Studies

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
Because of the absence of lighting calculation tools at the initial stage of tunnel design, the lighting systems are usually over-dimensioned, leading to over illumination and increased energy consumption.

Ocular surface disease in atopic dermatitis

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, Volume 104, Issue S291, Page S4-S28, June 2026.
ENGLISH SUMMARY Atopic keratoconjunctivitis (AKC) is a severe ocular surface disease (OSD) that significantly affects patients' quality of life and can lead to blindness. AKC is associated with atopic dermatitis (AD), a common chronic inflammatory skin disease affecting both children and adults.
