Limosilactobacillus reuteri L26 BiocenolTM and its exopolysaccharide: Their influence on rotavirus-induced immune molecules in enterocyte-like cells [PDF]
This study aimed to evaluate the immunomodulatory effect of the probiotic Limosilactobacillus reuteri L26 BiocenolTM (L26) and its purified exopolysaccharide (EPS) with respect to antiviral innate immune response.

Negative regulation of HDM2 to attenuate p53 degradation by ribosomal protein L26 [PDF]
HDM2 is a p53-specific E3 ubiquitin ligase. Its overexpression leads to excessive inactivation of tumor protein p53, diminishing its tumor suppressor function.

Saccharomyces cerevisiae Ribosomal Protein L26 Is Not Essential for Ribosome Assembly and Function [PDF]
Ribosomal proteins play important roles in ribosome biogenesis and function. Here, we study the evolutionarily conserved L26 in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, which assembles into pre-60S ribosomal particles in the nucle(ol)us. Yeast L26 is one of the many ribosomal proteins encoded by two functional genes.

Mdm2 regulates p53 mRNA translation through inhibitory interactions with ribosomal protein L26. [PDF]
Mdm2 regulates the p53 tumor suppressor by promoting its proteasome-mediated degradation. Mdm2 and p53 engage in an autoregulatory feedback loop that maintains low p53 activity in nonstressed cells. We now report that Mdm2 regulates p53 levels also by targeting ribosomal protein L26. L26 binds p53 mRNA and augments its translation.

Interactions of Nucleolin and Ribosomal Protein L26 (RPL26) in Translational Control of Human p53 mRNA* [PDF]
Background: Increased translation of p53 mRNA is important for stress induction of p53 protein. Results: RPL26 and nucleolin proteins interact with each other and with a double-stranded RNA structure in p53 mRNA to regulate p53 translation after stress ...

Regulation of p53 translation and induction after DNA damage by ribosomal protein L26 and nucleolin. [PDF]
Increases in p53 protein levels after DNA damage have largely been attributed to an increase in the half-life of p53 protein. Here we demonstrate that increased translation of p53 mRNA is also a critical step in the induction of p53 protein in irradiated cells. Ribosomal protein L26 (RPL26) and nucleolin were found to bind to the 5' untranslated region
