Species variation in the cartilaginous endplate of the lumbar intervertebral disc. [PDF]

open access: yesJOR Spine, 2022
Species variation in the CEP of lumbar IVDs was determined based on histology and SEM analysis. The integration of BEP‐CEP in humans, pigs, goats, and rabbits was mainly achieved by the collagen bundles anchoring system, while the typical BEP‐CEP interface did not exist in rats.

Towards Platinum(II) Complexes for in cellulo Applications: Synthesis, Characterization, Biological and Catalytic Evaluation

open access: yesHelvetica Chimica Acta, Volume 106, Issue 8, August 2023., 2023
Abstract With the aim of achieving bioorthogonal intracellular catalysis, a library of platinum(II) complexes was synthesized. Their non‐toxicity to living cells was demonstrated and their catalytic activity was evaluated on a cyclization reaction leading to a highly fluorescent coumarin. None of the platinum complexes showed any catalytic activity for

Design and Characterization of a Novel eEF2K Degrader with Potent Therapeutic Efficacy Against Triple-Negative Breast Cancer. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh)
Dysregulated eukaryotic elongation factor 2 kinase (eEF2K) expression is implicated in the pathogenesis of triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC). Compound C1 is designed and synthesized, which shows potent activity in degrading eEF2K protein. C1 significantly inhibits the proliferation and metastasis of TNBC.

Synthesis of Geminal Bis‐ and Tetrakisphosphonate Ester Derivatives and Their Coordination Behavior Towards Ca(II) Ions

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 2022, Issue 17, June 17, 2022., 2022
Geminal Bisphosphonate (BP) Esters in Ca(II) Ion Coordination. A series of geminal BPs was prepared starting from their corresponding ethyl‐ or isopropyl (arylmethylene)phosphonate ester precursors. Complexation with CaCl2 yields the derived coordination compounds [Ca(H2O)2(L1–L3)2]Cl2 or [Ca(L8)Cl2]n.

Mathematical Modelling of the Spatial Epidemiology of COVID‐19 with Different Diffusion Coefficients

open access: yesInternational Journal of Differential Equations, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
This paper addresses the discrepancy between model findings and field data obtained and how it is minimized using the binning smoothing techniques: means, medians, and boundaries. Employing both the quantitative and the qualitative methods to examine the complex pattern involved in COVID‐19 transmission dynamics reveals model variation and provides a ...

L7-SK2 mice show impaired EBC.

open access: yes, 2020
(A) During EBC, mice are placed in a light- and sound-isolating chamber on a freely moving foam treadmill with their head fixed to a horizontal bar. Mice see a green LED light (CS), followed 250 ms later by a weak air puff on the eye (US). As a result of

A Liquid Chromatography with Tandem Mass Spectrometry‐Based Proteomic Analysis of Primary Cultured Cells and Subcultured Cells Using Mouse Adipose‐Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells

open access: yesStem Cells International, Volume 2019, Issue 1, 2019., 2019
Adipose‐derived mesenchymal stem cells (MSC‐ATs) are representative cell sources for cell therapy. However, how cell stress resulting from passage influences the MSC‐AT protein expression has been unclear. In this study, a protein expression analysis was performed by liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LC‐MS/MS) using mouse primary ...

Interface Data Modeling to Detect and Diagnose Intersystem Faults for Designing and Integrating System of Systems

open access: yesComplexity, Volume 2018, Issue 1, 2018., 2018
In system of systems engineering, system integrators are in charge of compatible and reliable interfaces between subsystems. This study explains a systematic solution to identify and diagnose interface faults during designing and integrating systems of systems.
