Intracardiac echocardiography guided simultaneous atrial fibrillation ablation and Micra implantation 14 days after Watchman FLX implantation

open access: yesClinical Case Reports
Key Clinical Message Atrial fibrillation ablation, including pulmonary vein isolation immediately after left atrial appendage closure (LAAC), is a rare and challenging issue.

‘One Stop’ Therapy has a Satisfying Performance on AF Patients with Interatrial Communication: Evidence from Pooled Clinical Experience

open access: yesReviews in Cardiovascular Medicine
Background: Left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) has been reported to be a viable alternative to prevent thromboembolic events for atrial fibrillation (AF) patients. Interatrial communication closure, such as atrial septal defect (ASD)

Percutaneous Retrieval of Left Atrial Appendage Closure Devices in Patients With Atrial Fibrillation: A Case Report

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2022
Left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) devices can be inadvertently released into unfavorable locations, which may allow them to migrate to a different position within the left atrial appendage or embolize from the heart into the aorta.

Left Atrial Appendage Closure vs. Oral Anticoagulation in Patients With Atrial Fibrillation: An Updated Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 3, June 2026.
Efficacy and safety outcomes from meta‐analysis of left atrial appendage closure versus anticoagulation therapy in atrial fibrillation. Pooled analysis of 3116 participants from four randomized trials demonstrated comparable composite outcome of stroke, systemic embolism, and cardiovascular/unexplained mortality between LAAC and standard ...

Safety and feasibility of atrial fibrillation ablation after left atrial appendage closure: A single‐center experience of the left atrial appendage closure first strategy

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia
Background Patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) who are not suitable for long‐term anticoagulant therapy undergo percutaneous left atrial appendage closure (LAAC).

The Efficacy of Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion During Thoracoscopic Epicardial AF Ablation for Improving Rhythm and Cardiac Function in Patients With Heart Failure

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 3, June 2026.
Thoracoscopic epicardial AF ablation in heart failure improved LV systolic function irrespective of left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO). Concomitant surgical LAAO was associated with fewer LPV reconnections without worsening postoperative diastolic function, while atrial tachyarrhythmia recurrence was similar between groups.

Intracardiac echocardiography is a promising strategy for guiding closure of the left atrial appendage

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, 2023
Background and Aims Percutaneous transcatheter left atrial appendage (LAA) closure (LAAC) is an effective approach for preventing ischemic stroke in nonvalvular atrial fibrillation patients. Intracardiac echocardiography (ICE), a new imaging modality, is

Safety and Feasibility of Deep Sedation With a Tulip Airway and Jaw Elevation Device During Electrophysiology Procedures: A Single‐Center Experience of 647 Consecutive Cases

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 2, April 2026.
A propofol‐free deep sedation protocol using a Tulip airway and jaw elevation device was safe and feasible in 647 selected electrophysiology procedures, with a low incidence of sedation‐related complications. ABSTRACT Background Safe and stable deep sedation is essential for electrophysiology procedures.

Targeting Delivery of Cyanidin‐Loaded With Ti3C2 Nanosheets for Alleviating Vascular Calcification in Chronic Kidney Disease

open access: yesMedComm – Biomaterials and Applications, Volume 5, Issue 1, March 2026.
Vascular calcification significantly elevates cardiovascular risk in CKD patients, yet no effective therapies exist to halt its progression. We developed a dual targeting nanoplatform Ti3C2/RANKL/OCN/Cyanidin (TROC) for the targeted delivery of cyanidin against vascular calcification.
