A VLSI Array Architecture for Realization of DFT, DHT, DCT and DST

open access: yes, 2001
A unified array architecture is described for computation of DFT, DHT, DCT and DST using a modified CORDIC (CoOrdinate Rotation DIgital Computer) arithmetic unit as the basic Processing Element (PE).

Comparative study of DCT-and DHT-based OFDM systems over doubly dispersive fading channels

open access: yes
In high-mobility operating scenarios orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system lacks its optimality, intercarrier interference (ICI) occurs and the Doppler shifts deteriorate the orthogonality of the subcarriers.

High‐Speed Altitude Regulation With Neuromorphic Camera and Lightweight Embedded Computation

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Neuromorphic cameras deliver rapid, high‐dynamic‐range sensing but overwhelm embedded processors at high speeds. This work presents a lightweight, optimized Lucas–Kanade optical flow method with parallelization, gyroscopic derotation, and adaptive event slicing.

Cell therapy comparison of dental pulp stem cells, hepatocytes, and their exosomes for liver fibrosis treatment in rats

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
DPSCs, hepatocytes, and exosomes were tested for liver fibrosis therapy. Exosome‐based treatment exhibited superior antioxidative and regenerative effects. Liver enzymes, oxidative stress, and profibrotic markers were significantly reduced. α‐SMA, desmin, and related gene expression were downregulated.

A 250MHz optimized distributed architecture of 2D 8x8 DCT

open access: yes, 2007
Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) plays an important role in image and video compression, but computing a two-dimensional (2D) DCT, a large number of multiplications and additions are required in a direct approach.

Liposomal Delivery of L‐2‐Hydroxyglutarate for Targeting Epigenetic Dysregulation in Osteoarthritis

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
Osteoarthritis involves cartilage degeneration, inflammation, and epigenetic dysregulation. A liposomal formulation of the TET1 inhibitor L‐2‐hydroxyglutarate to overcome rapid joint clearance was developed. The formulation showed good physicochemical properties, reduced inflammatory and catabolic gene expression in chondrocytes, and alleviated ...

Functional morphology of the pharyngeal teeth of the ocean sunfish, Mola mola

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Many fish use a set of pharyngeal jaws in their throat to aid in prey capture and processing, particularly of large or complex prey. In this study—combining dissection, CT scanning, histology, and performance testing—we demonstrate a novel use of pharyngeal teeth in the ocean sunfish (Mola mola), a species for which pharyngeal jaw anatomy had ...

Realization on image 2D-DCT sparse transform based on FPGA

open access: yes, 2017
Sampling is a necessary course that the Analog physical world leads to the world of digital information. Compressed sensing (CS) theory breaks through the traditional Nyquist sampling theorem for data acquisition.

Achievable Data Rate of DCT-based Multicarrier Modulation Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
peer reviewedThis paper aims at studying the achievable data rate of discrete cosine transform (DCT)-based multicarrier modulation (MCM) systems. To this end, a general formulation is presented for the full transmission/reception process of data in Type ...
