Generalized Labels for the Flexi-Grid in Lambda Switch Capable (LSC) Label Switching Routers [PDF]
GMPLS supports the description of optical switching by identifying entries in fixed lists of switchable wavelengths (called grids) through the encoding of lambda labels. Work within the ITU-T Study Group 15 has defined a finer-granularity grid, and the facility to flexibly select different widths of spectrum from the grid.

Multifunctional Switch Based on Spin-Labeled Gold Nanoparticles
The fabrication of multifunctional switches is a fundamental step in the development of nanometer-scale molecular spintronic devices. The anchoring of active organic radicals on gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) surface is little studied and the realization of AuNPs-based switches remains extremely challenging.

A stepwise emergence of evolution in the RNA world
How did biological evolution emerge from chemical reactions? This perspective proposes a gradual scenario of self‐organization among RNA molecules, where catalytic feedback on random mixtures plays the central role. Short oligomers cross‐ligate, and self‐assembly enables heritable variations. An event of template‐externalization marks the transition to

Emulation of GMPLS-controlled Ethernet Label Switching [PDF]
Last decades bridged Ethernet has been the de facto standard layer 2 technology for LAN environments. This is mainly because it is easy to deploy, it has low cost and is relatively robust. These attractive properties together with highly increasing PHY speeds result in several initiatives of research projects and standardization bodies to extend ...

Evolutionary interplay between viruses and R‐loops
Viruses interact with specialized nucleic acid structures called R‐loops to influence host transcription, epigenetic states, latency, and immune evasion. This Perspective examines the roles of R‐loops in viral replication, integration, and silencing, and how viruses co‐opt or avoid these structures.

Implementation of Dual-fordwarding-plane Intelligent Path Selection based on SRv6+ MPLS
Under the background of the long-term coexistence of the 4th and 5th Generation Mobile Communication Technology (4G and 5G), as the Segment Routing (SRv6) protocol standard based on the Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) forwarding plane is basically ...

Relabelling Algorithms for Large Dataset Mixture Models [PDF]
Mixture models are flexible tools in density estimation and classification problems. Bayesian estimation of such models typically relies on sampling from the posterior distribution using Markov chain Monte Carlo.
