Percolation and Random Walks [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
The fourfold research proposal regards in particular: critical oriented percolation; random walk limit laws; neural networks with long-range connections; the ant in a labyrinth.

Ising spins on the labyrinth [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 5th International Conference on Quasicrystals, edited by C. Janot and R. Mosseri, World Scientific, Singapore (1995), pp. 80-83, 1999
We consider a zero-field Ising model defined on a quasiperiodic graph, the so-called Labyrinth tiling. Exact information about the critical behaviour is obtained from duality arguments and the subclass of models which yield commuting transfer matrices.

Theory and measurements of labyrinth seal coefficients for rotor stability of turbocompressors [PDF]

open access: yes
The prediction of rotordynamic coefficients for gas seals is achieved with the aid of a two-volume bulk flow model based on turbulent rotationally symmetric 3D flow calculations including swirl flow.

Labyrinth – fragments. Robert Morris and his installation for ms² Łódź 2010

open access: yesRIHA Journal, 2011
The installation by Robert Morris called Labyrinth, accompanying his monographic exhibition at the Museum of Art in Łódź, was one of his numerous works based on this theme. Besides the labyrinth itself, which belongs to forms most pregnant with meanings,

Lost Again in Shibuya: Exploration and Awareness in a Labyrinth [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
Existing digital technologies in urban settings tend to focus narrowly on concerns around wayfinding, safety, and consumption. In this paper, we examine pedestrian experiences based on the data collected through field observations as well as intensive interviews with nine pedestrians in the Shibuya area of Tokyo, and suggest an alternative approach to ...

On certain families of planar patterns and fractals

open access: yes, 2017
This survey article is dedicated to some families of fractals that were introduced and studied during the last decade, more precisely, families of Sierpi\'nski carpets: limit net sets, generalised Sierpi\'nski carpets and labyrinth fractals.
