Targeting ROCK2 to Restore Epileptic Synaptic Networks via Mitophagy Activation: Insights from Translational Imaging of SV2A In Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By integrating synaptic vesicle glycoprotein 2A PET imaging and transcriptomics, this study identifies Rho‐associated protein kinase 2 (ROCK2) as a critical regulator of synaptic network dysfunction in temporal lobe epilepsy. Pharmacological ROCK2 inhibition restores synaptic density and enhances mitophagy, thereby reducing seizures and neuronal damage.

Allele‐Specific Regulation of PAXIP1‐AS1 by SMC3/CEBPB at rs112651172 in Psychiatric Disorders Drives Synaptic and Behavioral Dysfunctions in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies a functional noncoding variant, rs112651172 (C/G), that drives allele‐specific expression of PAXIP1‐AS1 in monozygotic twin pairs discordant for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. The risk G allele enhances CEBPB binding, leading to lncRNA upregulation, CNTNAP3 derepression, and synaptic and behavioral deficits in mice.

The Impact of Power Training on Balance and Visual Feedback Removal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Because power training has been known to augment stability, the purpose of this study was to assess whether the removal of visual input affects lower limb muscle power production in young women who are resistance trained to the same degree it affects the

Neutrophil Extracellular Traps Affect Human Inner Ear Vascular Permeability

open access: yesInternational Journal of Molecular Sciences
The integrity of the blood–labyrinth barrier (BLB) is essential for inner ear homeostasis, regulating the ionic composition of endolymph and perilymph and preventing harmful substance entry.

Estrogen Alleviates Sevoflurane‐Induced Neurotoxicity by Inhibiting ERα‐Tau Binding

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sevoflurane‐induced neurotoxicity exhibits sex differences, and estrogen can mitigate these effects; however, its protective action appears to be time‐window dependent, which may be related to the competitive binding of estrogen and Tau to ERα. Abstract Sevoflurane‐induced neurotoxicity is age‐dependent, but the role of sex differences is unclear ...

Clinically Inspired Multimodal Treatment Using Induced Neural Stem Cells‐Derived Exosomes Promotes Recovery of Traumatic Brain Injury through Microglial Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study explores the therapeutic potential of iNSC‐Exo via local and systemic delivery in TBI mice. It is found that iNSC‐Exo enhances NRXN signaling through Microglia_Nrg3 and Microglia_Rarb, effectively promoting functional and neurological recovery, suggesting a new therapeutic strategy for TBI. Abstract Traumatic brain injury (TBI) poses serious
